John Edwards
Hi Joann,

First let me apologize for waiting so long to reply to your message.

As far as John Edwards is concerned, I do not know of a middle name or initial for him.

You offered to transfer John and Sarah's memorials to me and I will be happy to maintain these memorials but in full disclosure I feel I must let you know that my relationship to them is through my adoptive father who's genealogy I am doing out of love and respect for the man.

Dreiser - Dresser
I was checking out your site a bit and was impressed to see the novelist Theodore Dreiser and his brother Paul Dresser were both among your family relatives. I'm not sure you are aware of this, but Paul Dresser's life was the subject of a movie biography in the 1940s, with Victor Mature playing the composer.

RE: Martin Dies Jr. or Sr.
I have been having problems with my computer recently so I am late responding to your request.

The only thing I can tell respecting what I wrote that you saw was that the story about Congressman Dies (Jr.) was in the memoirs of the actor James Cagney (CAGNEY by James Cagney) published back in the 1980s. As you are aware the Congressman was serious about his anti-Communist crusade, but I found it interesting that he was human enough to want the autograph of a famous film star. The store that I saw the Congressman's signature in was the "Argosy Book Store" in Manhattan (New York City) on East 59th Street and Lexington Avenue. Unfortunately I did not get the Congressman's autograph then or since.

RE: Ada & Lewis Dies
You're Welcome Joann,

I was glad to fill your request. Ada and H. Glenn are next to each other behind the Harkins monument. Lewis is not with them. He is two rows behind them.

Hi Joann

Thank you for the kind words you wrote on my son's memorial. And to thank you also for taking the time to stop & read his bio about his short life. It's deeply appreciated by me & didn't go unnoticed.

Have a great night!

No, I'm too very distantly related for a transfer - let's see if someone closer comes along. But thanks for the offer.

Thanks...I guess it was just a mistake in the obituary.... or maybe it was my mistake in typing... but I think the stone is correct.
Thank you for bringing that to my attention. Feel free to delete my other postings... sorry I left so many! Have a great week! Cecile

Penny Caffey
According to the stone, she would be 39 years old... I think I got the 37 from an obituary... which I am unable to find right now... I am not sure which one was in error. I will do my best to correct this as soon as I can. Thank you for contacting me!

Thanks for linking Craig with his parents. I'm very distantly related (12th cousin, or so) to Craig. Appreciate your help.

RE: Memorial #51935292
I probably got the info on the Benjamin from something I was using to enter info on the computer. It was either an obit from the paper, a veteran's record or a death record.

RE: Your Beautiful Daughter Jessica
Dear Joann,
Thank you for your kind message.
I'm doing "ok", although the fall is an especially difficult time.
It means a lot to me that you care and leave flowers for Jessica.
Blessings to you!

That is exactly how you do it. Thank you for using the edit tab. I can do it the other way but it is a lot easier through the edit tab. I don't have to search for the memorial or your number. Sometimes folks will ask for a transfer and just give me a name. A findagrave search might bring up 200 names and I have to go to my hard-drive and search for the name so I know which cemetery to look under.

I don't mind at all if you don't mind doing it through the edit tab. Makes my life easier and it is just as easy for you.

Hi Joann,
I copied the German form as used by her children in remembering her genealogy. Which is correct sort of depends on family choices.

Thank you
Dear Joann,
Hope that this finds you doing well. Sorry this has taken me so long to get this to you. Thank you so very much for the visits to my Daddy. You are so very sweet. Take care and God bless.

RE: A Dies
Both memorials for the name "Dies" came from a cemetery list of burials for this cemetery found on the internet. I can not verify the accuracy of the dates. It appears that A. Dies was the husband of Alice Dies since they are buried together and born about the same time frame. Wish I could be of more help, but am just a simple volunteer! No direct relationship.

(Go to web site Steele County, MN Genweb for more information as that was site I used!) Good luck!

Myrtle Dickerson
Joann I thought I sent a message giving permission to use the picture but do not see it on you personal page.

When I went to send you a higher resolution copy of the picture I do not seem to have a Myrtle Dickerson in my database.

Could you provide me with more information about this person, dates other names ect

RE: Your Video
Joann, that is incredibly kind of you to send me that message about the video I made about my dad. Thank you.

I see that you are trying to find out information about both your father's and your mother's side of your family. I suspect that you may have already done so, but have you looked into having your DNA tested? I recently did that with Ancestry, and it was somewhat helpful, especially in confirming some of the lines. Although, I'm swamped with all the links they gave me of probable relationships with other Ancestry people (over 9,000).

Thanks again.
