I'm sooo thankful you caught that. I just sent the transcription of her obit to you. I don't know how I deleted it but I guess I did :(
Added by DS on Nov 23, 2013 10:14 PM
Thanks so much for transcribing them. I don't think I deleted anything yet that wasn't already there. I'll double check. If I find anymore on your memorials I'll go ahead and transcribe them since I know you'll add them.
Big hugz! :)

I actually would love some more records on him. Especially if you have the 1860, 1910 and 1920.
Really? Your late husband's line? Do you recall which one he comes from? I am always interested to know about more cousins and the like.

Sorry for the confusion; not a problem, I took one of the Cemetery workers with me because I was also having a time finding it. Glad someone did find the actual cemetery and place :)

I will look into the memorials more and see what ones we would like transferred. The person who gave you the photos and such must really know my DH's family well, after seeing all the information linked! Thanks for responding.

Hey Twila, are you related to the Cummings in Bancroft? I see your name come up often. You have added photos and such for them. They are my husband's direct family. Curious to know if you are related to him.

Twila: I want you to know that my wife and I made an effort to get to the Ping Cemetery today. We could not find it. I have the legal location down to the Section, where we drove all the public roads.
I think the cemetery is on private property somewhere. I stopped into the Garfield County Museum today also and asked some questions. They have a few pictured of monuments from there, but could give me do specific directions to get to the cemetery. They may call me with directions, and if I get something more specific, I will make another attempt.

Thank you for your note. I have a list for Brownwood Cemetery that I was sharing information with you as you have requested photos from Brownwood. I go and visit there every October.

Twila, that is a shame that you can't get someone to correct this county error on the Thornfield Cemetery.
Most people use the county location when searching for their family members and this is certainly not helping in that cause.
I will submit a request to the Find A Grave Admin. as well. Perhaps if more of us make the request, it may get some attention. At least we can hope.

I found an existing memorial for Christene Turner, Coy's wife. I added the headstone picture and sent the manager a message requesting that they add a spouse link of Coy V. to her page.
Have a wonderful 4th!

I live in Wisconsin, but I am from Brownwood, MO.
Check this website for death certificates:
Type in Carlton and you will be shown the death certificates for Anna, George, and Ora. I have update my database to add the dates for George, a Civil War Veteran and minister.

|Carol||Coy V. Turner (1917-2011)|
I got an email concerning your photo request for the headstone of Coy V. Turner in the Thornfield Cemetery.
I will fullfil this photo request within the next day or two. Coy was our neighbor here in Thornfield and he was one tough man. He lived on the farm just down the road from us and it was typical for us to see him out, clearning his fences as recently as a year before his death.
I notice that Coy's brother, William L. Turner (1919-2013) also has a memorial on Find A Grave and that there is no headstone photo. I will take a photo of William's headstone while there and if a photo request ever comes in I will have one to share.

Twila, you are so very welcome. I am new to Find A Grave and a rookie at taking pictures of headstones. My uncle told me about the chalk trick, so I thought I should give it a try on Hiram's and it sure helped.
Have a good week!

You are so very welcome! We are pleased to be able to help someone else find their ancestors as we certainly have many of our own yet to be found.
I will give most credit to my wonderful husband Mike, who braves the heat and weeds to get back into some of these cemeteries.
We are going to the Thornfield Cemetery again today to get pictures of a couple more there and may chalk rub Hiram's headstone in order for the detail to show better. So watch for a better picture.

your welcome. I found Chester's marker while driving around the cemetery. No other Simmons were in the area. The sexton has been busy so I don't know when he will bet back to me with other locations.

Thank you, Twila. I'm not related, but I'm working with a cousin who is. If you would transfer them to me, I would be happy to transfer to him. Viva is a Gorby descendant and so is my cousin.
