Marion Dix
Am researching Marion Dix as one of several women who worked in film in WWII. One of your messages indicated you have letters to your father from her. Would you share them?

There are two nice size headstones beside each other as you know. There is also one ground stone with the Armstrong Monument
I want to include all who are inscribed on them in this family grouping. You will need to up more for pics those named.

I think they were married 'secretly' in Las Vegas in 1933. There is something bout them snnouncing the marriage in a local newspaper when they announced it publicly a bit later. Google led me to all this. But the films I am interested in viewing really dont seem to be avilable any more.
I suppose they did not have sny children and probably divorced after a few years...

RE: Marion Dix
Thanks a lot anyway, I kind of suspected you would not know much. You can actually find where Marion Dix is buried on Findagrave, someone else has made a second entry for her.
I searched for her in several ways and found out she was quite a character, from the early period making Hollywood films, and spent with your father, through being a journalist in Paris at the fall of France in World War II, to working for the UN in Asia in the 1950s.

I left you a message a few minutes ago which I would like to continue. I am a secretary at the International Meditation Centre UK which is directly tied to the International Meditation Centre Rangoon which Marion Dix filmed in 1959. Please feel free to see our website for more information, including photos of Sayagyi U Ba Khin, whom she learned about Burmese Buddhism from, etc. The address is: www/internationalmeditationcentre.org
Please note the British spelling of Centre in the name of the website.
Thank you for your attention, quite a group of people here would really love to see one of her films about Burma if they still exist.

We are trying to locate films made by Marion Dix in 1958-59 in Burma. As you have put her name on this site and your father seems to have been her husband at some time (?), perhaps you can help us locate copies of these films. One was shown on ABC in 1959 as part of the Bold Journey series, it was called "The Road to Mandalay". Another was called "Temple Bells and Modern Dragons" which Ms Dix used to illustrate lectures she gave late in 1959, most notably in Spokane WA.
There is footage in these films of the International Meditation Centre in Rangoon which we would very much like to view, purchase, etc.
Kindly let me know if you are a good person to contact in this regard. (We are already trying to get the first film from ABC.)
Thank you very much.

You're welcome. Coincidentally, my wife is a church organist down here in Jensen Beach FL and has been one for over 40 years.

Why do you have George Washington's photo on Edmund Jennings Lee's [b. 1772] profile? Bill G.

Clarice Hankley
Hello:
I am trying to fulfill your request for Clarice Hankley, she has no dates, I was in the cemetery today, but I haven't found her yet, can you give me an approximate death date, so I can search harder in an area she might be? Thanks.
