Thank you so much for this memorial photo. Edward was my Irish immigrant ancestor, arrived in the US about 1850, married, had 4 children, went off to fight in the Civil War, and we have spent many hours researching him. This photo means so much to the family.

He enlisted Jan 8, 1862, company D, Illinois 9th Infantry.
Mustered out July 21, 1865.
His dad was Major Greathouse, so he must have been in the Revolution or Indian War. However I have not found the proof yet.
