RE: Charles Jones #148499723
Thank you for the links to his parents.
Are you kin to him? Would you like for me to transfer his memorial to you?

As for the name Mastin in my family, the first Mastin Ussery I know of was born in Giles County, TN in 1818 (the county I see your Hardamon/Hardiman's are from). I don't know whom he was named for. Interesting!

Thank you for the links to his parents. Where did you find that info, so that I may add the source to his bio? Also, do you know if Charles is buried with them? Thank you!

Richard and Mary
George Taylor Creecy
I checked the information I have for his year of birth and changed your edit back to 1837. George was 22 years old in the 1860 census. In 1880 census he was 42 and in the 1900 census he was 62. The inscription on his headstone looks like 1857 but it is really 1837. (I am sorry the picture of his gravestone was not larger so others could see the correct year of his birth.) He married my husband's 1st great grand aunt. Thank you for your interest in his memorial. Mary and Richard Jackson

John T Foster III
Foster surname
Hi Charlotte First I want to thank you for being on the forefront of listing curiosities. My best guess is we became related when Ila Foster married Ivan Coble. The input here is the first time I have ever had a clue where I came from and desire to pass this info to my siblings as I have no offspring of my own. But something is still missing. I was told there were three brothers who left North Carolina and settled around Mountain Creek near Mansfield, TX. Robert Augusta, John Burl, and John Timothy Foster Sr., my grandfather. I am John Timothy III. From your reporting, it is clear that Thomas Anthony Foster was Gus' father. Also clear is Thomas Anthony brother with John Bynum who both were sons of John Bynum Sr. where this record ends. So, I am having trouble connecting the three brothers story. I just got started here and trying to get it right. Thanks for you help further.

RE: cobb/hardiman
Charlotte, He is not buried in Kermit. I have a listing of the Kermit Cemetery. My family is buried there. My grandfather Calvin Cobb is the grandson of John. In 1900 Allen moved his family to Midland for a while and then he moved on to Lea County New Mexico and then on to Arizona.
John died in Kerr County after 1880 and before they moved to Midland. If he had died while they were in Midland I would think he would have been buried at Fairview Cemetery where his grandson Thomas Benton Cobb is buried.

Hardiman/ Hardamon
Charlotte,
Go to my page, and search for Hardiman, and you will see all my Hardiman family listed, you will notice some of the older ones, don't have a place of burial. Because their place of burial is unknown at this time! If you see John Hardiman, it will link his children, and grandchildren, as how I'm descended from them.

RE: Hardiman Families
Charlotte,
My parents are listed on Find A Grave, and have been linked to their parent's, grandparent's, and great grandparents! I have linked all my family. The way to link your parent's, to their parents, is who ever did the memorial for them, will need to be contacted, and ask for their permission to link them, give their names, and memorial number's. Their memorial numbers are the lower left hand side, below the name, birth, death, or biographies, and other info. about them. The person who did the memorial, name will be listed below, and their member number. Or just go to edit, and add their parents memorial numbers, in the father, and mother square. You can also edit their full names, birth, death, place of birth, or death.

RE: Hardiman Families
John & Elizabeth {Stith} Hardiman were your sixth Great Grandparents, and my fifth Great Grandparents. I have added memorial's for them on Find A Grave, but don't know where there was laid to rest. I also posted a flower, and brief note about John Hardiman 1738 - 1790, first wife Miss. Smith, and their two son's; Richard, and John E. Hardiman. John E. Hardiman born Dec. 2, 1759, died March 26, 1852 in Robertson County, Tennessee. He married Susannah Baldwin, probably a cousin of Elizabeth {Baldwin} Hardiman. John E. & Susannah had a son named Bolling Blair Hardiman, born 1804, died 1859. married Dolly Thornhill 1821 in Buckingham County, Virginia. They had a son named; John Thomas Hardiman, born June 23, 1829, died June 5, 1904 in Natchitoches Parish, Louisana.

They had ten children, one son's name was Thomas Hardiman, born 1776 in Buckingham County, Virginia.

Ruth Tompkins
I'll be glad to add info about her other married name--just curious if she divorced Horace Tompkins, or if perhaps the marriage to Mr. LaCaur was her first. I suppose it's possible that she re-married after being widowed at age 88, but I thought I would check for more detail.

RE: holbert hardiman
Charlotte:
According to the 1880 census, Elvessa is 1 year old and Holbert is 10 months. The census date was June 22, 1880 at that moment, yet it also says his birth month was July, which must have been refering to July 1879. Therefore, Elvessa would have had to been born before May, 1878. My records have her birth as 4/29/1878.
Do you have any other records that create a different time line?
Hope all is well with you and yours.
Larry
