|James Braxton Cotton||Nora Lee Chambless Cotton (1911-1976)|
I an James Braxton Cotton, the 4th of five boys born to Leonard Ben Cotton (1906-1980) and Nora Lee Chambless Cotton (1911-1976). The information on her grave marker inn Blount Memory Gardens is correct.
It is true my mother and father were married 15 Nov 1930 in Pell City, St. Clair, Alabama, USA.
The Nora Cotton, SS no. 418-24-7756, b. 21 Jan 1912, d. Mar 1980, nee Nora Belle Summers married William Washington Cotton (1906-1980)on 2 Dec 1928 in Calhoun, Alabama, USA. This marriage record is found on page 430, Volume O, Calhoun County Marriages, 1927-1933.
By-the-way my younger brother Kenneth is buried next to Leonard as well as my brother-in-law, Franklin Fendley. I also have 5 sisters and two of them still live in Oneonta. Actually Wanda Massey gave the information on the grave marker for Leonard, Nora, and Kenneth as well as her first husband Franklin Fendley.
I am sincerely,
James Braxton Cotton

|Linking Families||Requests Documentation|
All requests that I send are obtained from rootsweb/ancestry.com. If there are posts from more than one source, I compare the posts for verification.
When family links have been written in a bio on a F.A.G. page, I compare those with rootsweb/ancestry.com for accuracy.
When there are no family trees on rootsweb/ancestry.com, I conduct a web search for other family trees before abandoning my search.
I am conducting research on the Murphree and Major families in Blount county because we have friends from both of those families.

Do you know where in AL the Dean's came from? My maiden name was Dean. They came from the Wedowee area before landing in west Texas. Just curious.

Thank you for the heads up on the "Edits" tab. I thought all corrections were done with email.
I don't have a lot of time to work on Find A Grave but I make corrections that I get emails about as soon as I see them.
What area are your Rutherfords from if I may ask? That is one of my family names also.
