Hazel A. Bailey
Dear Melissa
I can't read the dates on the stone or she in the
empty area between the left and right stones?
If she is, have the grounds keepers cut the sod
and raise the stone so it can be readable.

Hi Melissa,

I am wondering if you know the maiden name of Helen M, Grover Gay Shepherd's wife.

I have a missing branch on my tree and it's making me crazy!

Memorials #107043578 and #107043900
Could you please remove the photos you added showing both their markers - it's not necessary. This family lived by my grandparents on South Cushman in the Little Russia area of Tacoma. My mother went to school with their daughter Elvera.

Thank you...

Thank you for the transfer. I've updated the memorial, and I do hope that his family finds him. I did notice that there are two identical photos of the grave loaded to the memorial. (I'm guessing you hadn't noticed since you have contributed so many to Find-A-Grave!!!) Could you delete the second one, please? That way, when family finds him, there will be room for personal and family photos. Thanks! ~Evey :-)

Bertha J. Jellum Carlson
I noticed you have made a Find A Grave memorial for my Great Ante Bertha J. (Jellum) Carlson and if you will allow me to to I'd love it if you would transfer it to me. I've already set up all the memorials at the Highland Cemetery in La Center, Washington and would love to connect Ante Bertha too. Right now we live in Oak Harbor, WA but soon I'm going to be retiring and then the fun starts. We'er going to travel around the country and look up people from our family tree on
Would like very much to find cemeteries that are not done and provide photos and memorials for those that are yet to be done.
Thanks John Bjorge

Oh BTW You know that the great Moms get promated to Grand Moms.
Heading to Bellingham next weekend to a party for our Fourth Grand Daughter.
Happy Hunting.

Thanks for the gravesite information. I've had a chance to talk with their daughter, and have talked about the two halves of Sumner Cemetery, each side of the road. She said there grave is on the other side of the road, but I was unable to get a north or south side from her cause she assumed it was the west side. I have just recently changed the cemetery from Woodbine to Sumner after talking with her, and am not 100% sure i have it right. I do think that when we find it, there will be a headstone though.

Dear Melissa,
Thanks for the burial info on Frances K. Kirkwood Weick and Frank Budge Weick. I originally thought that that's where they were buried but had some difficulty proving it. I appreciate the updates.

The Abbey...a Project
I will if need be, but thought we could work together to get several locals to go through the Abbey records and the on-ine entries and compare them. Then with the results, approach Find A Grave with a list of the transfers needed to correct the entries. I'm sure the cemeteries involved will appreciate it too with the less number of inquires on the phone and via email or snail mail they will have to reply to, taking away their time from the public they need to deal with in internments and upkeep issues...Let me know if we can get a group of South Sound Find A Grave volunteers and genealogists to assit in this? tnx

The Abbey
Guess I didn't say it right? The Abbey has a listing of 1600 people, in FIND A GRAVE... There are not enough physical spaces in the Abbey to have 1600 interned...

MANY of the memorials listed under the ABBEY have stone photos that are taken outside. So, a Sumner Cemetery interment should not be listed under an ABBEY monacher (sp), but a Sumner listing. We need to change those to reflect who's cemetery they are lying in. Sorry that I didn't come across earlier...

Sumner...we have a Problem!

I think you can help... I've been asked to take photos of grave sites, but some of them already had photos taken by you... obviously, someone is either not happy with photos taken for the memorial of the internment or they want something else. But that's not what I'm writing about...
I see that the Abbey Mausoleum has over 1600 entries for internments. Maybe you know of the other people that entered the memorials in FIND A GRAVE, that have an OUTSIDE STONE, but listed as an ABBEY cemetery entry... Well, the internees are technically in the PIONEER CEMETERY of the City of Sumner Cemetery, according to the maps. We've got a HUGE project to CHANGE all the cemeteries for the OUTSIDE STONES and leave the other entries "inside". If you go to and look for the link to the cemetery, you'll see the maps for the WEST and EAST LOOP Sections of the PIONEER Cemetery on the north side of Valley Ave, E. and the other side, the south, with the Sumner City Cemetery. I would suggest you get with Scott at 253-299-5510 and talk to him if you can't get a map. Basically, if you're friends with any of the creators, I would get off an email to them and let them help... or contact the memorial creator and get them to change the entry. The Abbey has a list of ALL that are interned, if there is no CONFIRMATION Photo of the internment, and if you eliminate those internees from the rest, then all the others could be changed to reflect which REAL Cemetery they are in. I would reflect in the "NOTES: Interned in Pioneer Cemetery of Sumner Cemetery System, etc." and pick the SUMNER CEMETERY or Pioneer Cemetery. But since they've combined all entries for those two into one, The Sumner, then it would be best to update to "SUMNER CITY CEMETERY" and then address whether on the North "PIONEER" Side or the South Side in notes for those looking for the grave.
Been fun out there for about a week trying to find a few people that weren't properly marked and that's how I found the HUGE MISTAKE. Thanks,KC
