RE: Wiecenski name
Thank you so very much for that information. When I was on Ancestry, the year that was given for Mary Dube Wiecenski's death was 1978 in the Social Security Index. That is odd. Still thank you very much again for the birth date and marriage date.

RE: Wiecenski name
I hadn't done the research on that generation of brothers and sisters yet, so thank you.

My wife's great-grandfather was Violet's older brother, Peter Wiecenski, who was born around 1902 and died in 1961 in Somerville, New Jersey. I have not found any record of Peter that gives his full birthday as I have never been to New Jersey and it is not so easy a thing to see records from half a country away.

Still it is nice to converse with family we didn't know about. Thank you.

RE: Wiecenski name
Thanks, but we aren't certain that it is a misspelling. Her uncle heard his father and grandfather talking about changing the family name either back to or to Weiss. Peter Wiecenski (Stephen Wiecenski's son and my wife's uncle's grandfather) was the one who wanted the name change. William Wiecenski, his son and my wife's grandfather said that if they did that then people would know they were Jews.

Just something for your family to mull on if they didn't know that.

Wiecenski name
My wife is descended from Stephen and Johanna (Anna) Wiecenski. We had not heard that the family name was once something close to Vergaska. How did you find out about that and from whom?

Elmer Davis
Charlene, how were you related to Elmer Davis? He was my great grandfather. My grandfather was Roy Davis and my father was Delmer Davis. I am trying to figure out if Minnie Gilreath was my grandfather Roy's mother or stepmother. I think Roy had half brothers and I remember the name Harvey as being a half brother. I'm excited to find out what you know!

I read you bio and saw the name of Davis and your connection to Southwest Missouri. I have found several Davis families in Vernon county that are connected to the Littons. Are yours in that area? Judy

RE: Thornbrue/Young
Frank Lyman Young's sister Eva married James Burton Litton. When I found the information I just added it. I had been searching for how Martha Litton and several of her children traveled to Washington state when I came across all this information. Sorry I mixed it up. I do enjoy genealogy and Find A Grave is a great site. Judy

I believe I have made the corrections as you suggested. I did not change the birth year, only added it as info. (Hope that is ok)? Let me know if that is not ok. Judy

RE: Wilsons & Ducket
Mollie's husband Charles Frank Wilson is an older brother of my great grandmother Veda Palestine Wilson Morris. I guess we are very distant cousins of some sort by marriage! One reason I joined Find A Grave was to share some old family pictures I have, passed down from my "Great Granny" Veda. They don't do much good sitting in boxes tucked around my house. Pictures of my family are also someone else's family, and I have enjoyed sharing them on Find A Grave. Thanks again for getting the Maggie Wilsons straightened out.

What we require is that all pics are acknowledged. Please just make a note in your records regarding the origination. It is amazing that so many people steal and post on Ancestry.com.

BTW, tell me more about your Davis line.....can trace mine to John Abraham David,1759-1827 in North Carolina. My line of that family moved to Missouri.

Elmer L Davis
Your Elmer L. is not the one I was looking for, but I have to ask if you know of connection. Mine was b. abt 1915 OK, son of Jesse Lee Davis & Esther Mae Waggoner. Jesse was son of James Silas Davis, who was son of Silas Davis & Missouri Anna Yoakum. My Jesse Lee Davis was in Ellis Co OK in 1930. I have picture of him w/ Esther when they were young.
