I appreciate the info on my great-grandfather (William) and his father. I've spoken to many family members who did not know all that you added. Who was able to give you those facts? There are some other things I would like to find out. Also, did anyone you talked with know the location of the Weatherford Cemetery where Andrew is buried? I have had no success with that.

Hi there,
I was browsing photo requests in areas I'm familiar with and noticed you have a request in for this person & someone else reported a problem finding it. I'm fairly sure I *used to* know where this was. I haven't been in the area in about 5 years though, so my memory of it is a little dusty, and it's also on a very remote road out in the boonies. I may be able to find it in my spare time, but didn't want to click on the "claim" button in case someone else wants to find it before I have a chance. I just wanted to let you know I'm willing to look, it just may take awhile.

RE: Hattie Simpson Hickman
Did you know Howard M Hickman, we connected when I had my son the DNA testing and he was an exact match to Howard. Howard contacted me and sent me a lot of the photos that I now have on Ancestry.

I don't know if Leander is a boy or girl. See he died in 1848 also.

To me it looks like the stone says he was 11 years of age when he died. It looks like Nancy, Addison, and William all died in 1848. must have been some type of epidemic. Hope you are doing well.

RE: William Dickson
Hi Rebecca,
I don't know which William Dickson you are referring to. I don't have a William in my direct line either. My ancestors are James C. and Jane Dickson.
Thanks for thinking of me though.

RE: Abednego info
Rebecca: I would appreciate the info on Abednego, but I think you should send it to Chris Smith since he has created a rather "bare bones" memorial for him.

Please remember to link John Ritchie Inman to his mother Mary (Ritchie) #89362693.

Abednego had a very interesting life and I would appreciate the info you have on him for my files. I haven't researched him in length - yet. My email is:

Lucy Basham Simmons

I was looking at the Old Simmons Cemetery and found my several times grandmother, Lucy Basham Simmons. Was thrilled to find her gravestone. I noticed a Thomas Simmons included but read the information and am positive it's not Thomas Jefferson Simmons, known
as "Long Thom", as he passed away after Lucy in Kentucky. Just want to make sure. Am having a terrible time finding his grave stone...even with the name of the cemetery and the location.

Thanks so much for taking these pictures and contributing them to Find a Grave.

Researching my wife's family tree. I'm looking for some evidence that Clement Shreve Moxley's wife "Mattie J" was indeed Martha Jane Meador. Then I found your memorial which has more info than I've seen elsewhere yet. For example, the date of marriage. Hooray. May I ask where you got this info?

Hello Rebecca, I see you have added bio to some of the Shaffer/Swingle family in South Canaan Bible Protestant Cemetery. I was wondering if you were related to them. If so I would love to contact you?

About Dollie May Burris at Crown Hill
The grave of Dollie May Burris is unmarked. I determined the location by the adjacent marked grave of Virginia A. Grum in Lot 4139. I did post a photo of the area.

About Charlotte Burris at Crown Hill
The grave of Charlotte Burris is unmarked. Section C has few markers and many markers are illegible due to weathering. Charlotte's grave would be located in the center of the photo that I posted, based on the Section plot map. Sorry the news isn't better.

RE: John Bischoff
Hi Rebecca,

I'm really not sure. I'm starting to think this is a lost cause. My Dad's uncle (John Bischoff's oldest son) went to the cemetery back in the 50's or 60's and it sounds like even then the stone was too faded to read as they only found it because the caretaker at the time could help and the son had a memory of where it was.

All we know is that it was next to a Bauer (or Bower?). He didn't die in an epidemic, they think it was from blood poisoning from a sore on his lip.

Thank you so much for your help!

RE: Nancy Hill Boston
I totally agree the family stated in the same area and the counties changed. But I do not know how anyone can tell for sure exactly where people were other than a record on a certain day. The farm does not move but people do. Horse Cave is only 9 miles away. Maybe she was visiting. I got this info from early researcher notes. It is not based on a factual or proof document. Alls I know is there is not grave in Sulphur Wells for her today. I took pictures of the entire cemetery. Maybe when she visited she died. It does not matter you can keep her in Sulphur Wells because we do not know if her tombstone (if it existed) got destroyed and thrown away. Many of my ancestors do not have tombstones for the period before 1830 in Indiana and Kentucky and they just put a rock which then the later farmers removed so they could plow more acres. It is unlikely James or Nancy tombstones would be found but if someone goes again they should try any cemeteries around the area including Green co and Horse Cave just in case. Which of James children are you related to?
