Hello William, Teresa and I went to the Eupora Cemetery to do the 12 photo request and try and find the others who did not have a photo. We have found, by experience it is better and faster to do the entire cemetery, rather than go up and down each row searching for certain ones...plus, we have found that just because it says a cemetery is 98% done does not mean that all the interments are listed. We know there will be some new ones to add but we have found several "old" ones that have not been listed......so our new motto is "It ain't been done until we have done it."........anyway, I wanted to let you know that we have added several Latham's to the list. I thought you may want to add some information or links. If you want the ones we have done to be transferred to you, we will be glad to do that too...........God Bless, pam and teresa

Yes, the family was from Winston County. I've asked my mom about J. L.'s family but she said no one would ever talk about his dad cause he deserted his family. The ones who would know are all gone and they never would talk about him. I do know that J L and his family went on a wagon train to Oklahoma during the land rush when he was 5 years old. Don't know how long they stayed there. J L is supposed to have a brother named Joe who my mom thinks lives in Tennessee. I wouldn't even try because how many Joe Williams do you think there are in Tennessee? LOL

All I know anything abt them is that they had one son Archie 17 Jun 1902 - 11 Jun 1997 Find A Grave #104564698. His wife was Mary Elsie ? Her listing is attached to his listing. Archie and Elsie has four children. Louis b.1922,Doris b1925, Hoyet b. 1926, and Wm. Elbert b. 23 May 1927 -2 Dec 2008 Find A Grave #92340342. Wm. Elbert was my son-in-laws paternal grandfather.
I did not know abt the Jas. Albert, son of Jas. Arthur and Sallie until I found their Find A Grave listing.
I only find one Census record with one child listed and that was with Jas. Albert and Sallie with Archie as a 7 yr old. Sorry I don't have more.

This is Mary Louise Taylor Robertson. She was not a Womack nor was her husband Joseph. On the Calhoun City Cemetery her information has been requested to change from Womack to Taylor. This can be seen on the grave page by the requests that have been made to have this changed that she is not a Womack.

The best I can tell the city cemetery is split between Oktibbeha and Webster Counties. Part of the Maben city limits are in Webster. But I think you are right about Boyles, it is in Webster.

|Eula LaNier||RE: Location of Lanier Cemetery|
The cemetery is located in Lowndes County, MS about a quarter mile north of the intersection of Highway 50 and Youngblood Road. This is a few miles east of the city of Columbus. It is totally overgrown with large trees, bushes, and vines. In June of 2012, my husband (who died in 2013) had headstones erected at the graves of his father, mother, and brother. At that time, they had access to the cemetery from the south side across a muddy field of grass and weeds. The cemetery is on property owned by the Youngblood family who live at 488 Youngblood road. Permission was obtained from them to erect the headstones. This was done by Columbus Marble Works. I can give you more details if you e-mail me directly at: email@example.com
Thank you for your intrest.

Have you been to the Lowndes County Library, 314 North 7th Street, Columbus, MS? They have/had a book titled LOWNDES COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI CEMETERY RECORDS By Rolfe B. Chase, Revised Copy 1979. That is how my cousin found the McBee Cemetery. The only marker found was that of Aaron Evans. I have a picture of his marker and it looks like it is laying on the ground. That was back in the late 1980s or early 1990s. Gee, I hope you can connect with someone who knows about it. Don't give up!

I don't have anyone buried at McBee that I know of. I just have a hope that I can one day find my Kleber Kilcrease and Amanda Carter Kilcrease's graves. Kleber was born in TN in 1818, the child of Davis Kilcrease and Mahala Mandley( mahala's second husband was Thomas Townsend.) kleber at age 17 left Lowndes Co and went to TX in1835 and fought in the Texas Revolution! He received bounty land in TX but came back to Lowndes and married Amanda. They settled on land (the Alexander Carter tract) just east of the Luxapulila. kleber was a lawyer and he died before 1860. To date, I have not been able to locate Kleber and Amanda's graves or Alexander and Polly Carter's. I have found evidence that Alexander owned land in section 13. T18 and R18. That land doesn't seem to far from the McBee Cemetery location that you describe.

Do you know where this "Lanier Cemetery" is? Have you ever been to it? I am looking at this cemetery via Columbus satellite. It is hard to tell from the satellite that there is a cemetery there. However, this fits the descriptions I have seen online for Lanier Cemetery. Also, this is how I remember it from the late 1970's when I visited it. I notice that on findagrave Lanier Cemetery website there are graves posted that are also on the McBee Cemetery website. How can this be? Have you compared these cemetery listings? ......... I did visit the cemetery where Macajah is buried many years ago. That is wonderful news that ya'll have placed a stone! I don't think I have any documents that list Henry F. Walters middle name as Freeman.
