Andrew Pickens
I am also a Pickens (mother's side) and was wondering if you knew who Andrew's father was?
Also, if you know if Margaret Gillespie was born in 1740 in Virginia?
I am trying to piece together the Gillespie and Pickens families since several of my direct grandfathers had a middle name of Gillespie.
Thanks for any help you might have.

Pickens book...
Hello again Peggy,
I have done extensive research of the Pickens family and the "R. A. Pickens & Son Company". I have posted much on and as you probably already know. My father was hired by R. A. Pickens in 1964 and still lives on the Pickens plantation today. I was raised and worked for the Pickens plantation in my youth. I really love that plantation and want to write a book about the history of the Pickens family and the large cotton plantation that was established in 1881 and still going strong after one hundred and thirty years! If you have anything to contribute in this worthy endeavor please reply via my email. Thank you Peggy for all your efforts in the genealogical research done on behalf of your Pickens heritage.

Margaret Kincannon
Finley Horton
According to my research, Finley Horton married Edna Stanfield about 1919. They lived in Clear Lake, Mississippi County, in 1920, in St. Louis, MO, in 1930, and back at Luxora, Mississippi County, in 1940 (census reports).
Edna Stanfield was a daughter of Mayoma ("Oma") Elizabeth Kincannon (born April 1864 in Hardin County, TN) and James Riley Stanfield (born c. 1855, son of Thomas Mixon Stanfield and Delila __). They were married March 14, 1878; lived in Decatur County, TN; moved to Madison County, TN, after 1900 (census). Oma's parents (William J. Kincannon and Elizabeth Smith) died when she was a child, and her brothers (James P. and Daniel Kincannon) moved to Mississippi County. I have more information about this branch of the family for anyone who is interested.

Harry Marion Gorham, Sr.
I understand you're family is related to him. So am I through my husband. My husband's grandmother was the granddaughter of Harry Marion Jr, HM and Nancy's son. Some of Harry Jr.'s decendants are meeting together the last Sat. of July.
Do you know where Nancy Bailey is buried?
Do you happen to know who Harry Sr. dad was?
Thanks for your time. Nancy

RE: Raymond Lee Adkins
Thanks for the info; in the future, I will contact you at your email. Do you know Mona's middle name by any chance?

RE: Raymond Lee Adkins
Hi, Raymond's first wife was Marguerite (Margarette) Neill. Info for Marguerite is as follows: B: 11/5/1910 in Kennett, Dunklin, MO. D: 1/10/1977 in Cave City, Sharp, AR. Note: I do not have marriage/divorce dates for Raymond/ Marguerite; however, I have a date of 7/12/1927 which may be their date of marriage.

Marguerite's parents: Andrew Neill, D: 1914; Mom is Alice Elizabeth Allen, B: 7/22/1892; D: 4/10/1951.

Raymond & Marguerite had 2 kids but I find info on just one of them & her info is:

Alice Jane Adkins, B: 7/5/1928 (North Little Rock, AR. D: 3/17/1997 Kenner, LA. Alice married:
Theron Robert Allen in Benton, AR on 11/5/1944. Theron was born: 9/17/1913 in Fowler, Yell, AZ. D: 9/28/1980 Glendale, AZ.

I believe Alice/Theron had four kids??

By the way, Raymond was my Mom's cousin & I'll check again with her to find out how many kids Raymond & Mona had (if any). How are you related to either of them if I may ask. Do you have any info you can share with me?

Mom said Marguerite was a quiet, sweet woman & Mona was a loudmouth. If you want to see a pic of Marguerite/Raymond, I believe my daughter put it on Public Tree.

Thank you so much for the reply. I do know exactly where you are talking about. I have worked there some and didn't realize it actually had a name for the cemetery. I also have relatives buried there. Will certainlly be checking into it. Thank you so much for the name.

Peggy You entered names in a cemetery at Armorel Arkansas. I live in Armorel so could you please tell me where this cemetery is located? Is it the one on the highway there by Nucor Hickman? I would love to show some of the Carson family that are coming in town in April for a family reunion.

I added the data from a cemetery census, so she must have a pre-need marker at that cemetery. Transferred to you. If you'd like, feel free to remove the memorial.

Happy hunting,

RE: William Presley Bobbitt
The pictures I believe came from an incredible site of family photo sharing! :) I couldnt begin to tell you how many hours spent in surfing the internet & trying different spelling or how I arrange the names, etc. I stumbled onto ancientfaces when I was on lunch one day thru my phone which Ive found stuff thru my phones browser that Ive never found using my laptop. I get so excited when I stumble on a new pic. Also, ive found some thru the NationalArchives in washington, some connected politically or military. I try to upload something new everynight onto our "ThomasCemetery" tree on I stumbled upon William Bobbitts mrkr on christmas eve when I got off work and went down to see if the brush piles had been hauled off & I got to diggin around and uncovered a whooe row of graves along the property line. Im hoping I can find the rest of his mrkr.Hope this helps, let me know, Kristal

Hi Peggy,

Sorry for getting back to you so late. I have been getting a lot of request and plus everyday life I haven't able to get all the requests as fast as I would like.
