RE: Wysoka Strzyzowska

Sorry, I don't have any Kumor names in my records, but then this name has not been in my radar.

Arron H. Vedder
Andrew... you are exactly right I know that once I locate his parents and/or father it'll take me all the way back, especially being within that region of New York. I also know that there is a Vedder Library up there as well and I need to talk with some local genealogists to see what I can uncover. But you make a good observation concerning Arent being the dutch form of Aaron and the middle intial being H... as in Harmense. NOw he name now Aaron named his son (my 2nd great grandfather Herbert Aaron Vedder so I also thought the H might stand for Herbert, but not sure...

RE: Aaron H Vedder
Andrew, I have not been able his parents... I know Aaron H. Vedder and wife Hellen lived in Royalton, Niagara, New York. Aaron was born about 1822...? Hellen was born about 1821. Here full name was Hellen B.W. but not sure of her maiden name. Any help here would be great because this has been a wall that I have not been able to overcome since I began researching my family. Thanks Christian.

RE: Seelye
Lyman & Martha Griswold Seelye were my 3rd great grand uncle & aunt. (They stayed in NY according to my research.)
My 3rd great grandparents (Cornelius & Rachel Smith Seelye) moved to Ohio in 1821 with his other brother, Daniel. Cornelius is supposed to be buried in a cemetery in Avon, Ohio. (perhaps the Mounds) But, the person that checked for me could not find his gravestone.

RE: Elihu Vedder
Andrew, although I created the page for Elihu Vedder Jr., it is actually maintained by Find-A-Grave as a "famous memorial". So, I cannot add Elihu Sr. as his father, rather you would have to go to the Elihu Jr. memorial and suggest the correction and a find-a-grave admin would respond to your request. I wish I could help and I believe I had thought about that before, so I'm glad you reached out to try to correct the relationship. Let me know if you get a response and if you don't I will try as well... Thanks again, Christian Vedder.

RE: Vetter
I have a George Frederick Vetter(1823-1891)from Germany. Is he possibly one of yours with a spelling change?

Do you want a transfer of the memorial? Just let me know, as he is no relation to me.

I have no other info on him. I am "mowing the rows" in that section, and transcribed what was on the stone. Sorry that I can't help you--I wish I could!

I don't believe that I am related - if I am, it is very distant. I photograph cemeteries and can sometimes link people. Sorry!

RE: Sheriff Willie Langston
I actually knew nothing about Sheriff Langston until I read your page about him on Find A Grave. I will try to find out more, though. He's not famuos, but he is important to Leon County history. There is probably the entire news story in the old Tallahassee newspaper in the State Archives. My mother is retired--I'll ask her to go look for me. Also, I will ask around of the family still here in Woodville and see if anyone has knowledge of the murder passed on by their grandaddy or something like that. If I get something good, I'll contact you.

RE: langston
Yes, I am a Life Member of the West Gadsden Historial Society. I just don't go to all of the meetings because it's 50 miles from my house. I would love to have some tobacco barn photos for my Gadsden GenWeb site. I grew up in Gadsden County and worked in tobacco since the summer of the 3rd grade. What long hours, from 7:00 in the morning until 6:00 in the evening.

Thank you for taking off a couple of photos of Sheriff Langston's memorial. I didn't know anything about him, so reading your article was very interesting. I also am the coordinator of the Leon County Genweb site now, so I'm starting to collect people photos and tombstone photos, and genealogy info on the people in Leon County.

If you would remove your landscape shot of the entrance to the Woodville Cemetery, I will put up a new one that is more recent. I put one up, but it's a very wide shot and doesn't do justice to the entrance, so I will make another. We have a sign there now that is new and I'd like to update that cemetery, since I also manage it.

Check out these two web sites and see the cemeteries that I don't have photos for. Maybe you would like to photograph one or two of them for me.

You have uploaded 5 photos to this site, and that is the total number of free photos. I am the current cemetery manager and I have two nice, clear photos of Sheriff Langston's WOW monument that I would like to upload. But I don't want to pay $5. Would you consider removing two of your photos? Some of them are just landscape shots and not really needed. Thanks for your consideration.

I am not related. A friend and I are working to enter everyone interred in Oakwood into the F.A.G. database. Do you wish a transfer?

Thanks so much for these links.
I'm not related to the Vedder family, but admire Elihu Vedder's work. I thought perhaps there was a Vedder museum which had most of his work & papers.

Thanks for your reply and the great information about her.
Yes, I knew that her grandfather Vedder was a prominent dentist, but I did not know about the many other dentists in the family.
Do you know what happened to Elihu Vedder, Jr., her father's art and bronzes that, I understand, she helped manage during her life.
It is unfortunate, but I can find very little about very life.
Thanks so much,

Greetings Mr. Waber,
I am trying to learn more about Anita H. Vedder, the daughter of Elihu Vedder, Jr., the artist.
Do you know when she was born and died, and possibly where she was buried.
Any information is appreciated.
