Hi Paul,

It seems all I do is contact you regarding some problems. I received an e-mail regarding the
memorial #130414285. I requested a photo of the
headstone and Find A Grave is reporting that there is no record of George Ledbetter being
interred at this location. Since this was added
by you I am hoping you can clarify...

Hello Paul,

Sorry to bother you but do you have any info on
the link you sent me for freepages.genealogy? It seems they have disappeared off the web....

Thank you,

Thanks Paul, for the link you provided to the Sarrett & Ledbetter families. I think somehow we
are related.(cousins?) My grandparents were Lola
Ledbetter and William Sarrett. I never knew my grandfather as they had divorced long before I
came along. It seems Daniel & Johnnie are my great
great grandparents. Again, thank you...

Your welcome. I wish they could have been a little better, but it was late in the day and I was facing the sun. If you'd like me to take another in a morning sometime they should come out better. I don't mind.

Willie Daniel
Thank you for the links. I think it makes the memorials look better when you have links to other family members. I am sorry I gave you the wrong ID number. I've been researching the Daniel line all year and was pleased to have found Willie in the Miller Cemetery. He is only remotely kin to me. FYI his mother was my grandmothers aunt.

RE: John Burt Gilbert
Every time there is a photo request in my local cemeteries I do some homework on Names in Stone and find the plots that are "close by" to see who needs a photo taken.... and that's how I came upon his.

I'm always happy to transfer memorials to relatives of the individuals.

Just to let you know the Litton Cemetery on Big Hill, Lee County, VA, is not in the Rose Hill area, it is in the Pennington Gap, area of Lee County. Also was this George Washington Zion?

Joanne Hobgood
Hilda Mae Verlich Annan
Hello, I am Hilda Mae and John Verlich's daughter. For the record my name is Joanne D. Verlich Hobgood now. I was born 8/25/52.

Corrections on my mothers account: My mother did not divorce John Verlich he died. His death date you have right. My fathers dob is incorrect although a lot of records show the birth year 1915 he was born in 8/15/1916. He lied about his age so he could get a job earlier to help support his brothers and sisters. He had to be a year older to work at the U.S.Steel Mill/Coke plant in Clairton PA. My mother did divorce Harold Annan. How did you get the family picture? Only her siblings and I have one.

Penny Harris
Wayman Charles Lemon
I am trying to find which cemetery he is in so I can link him with his wife, Bessie Allen, down in the Adkins Cemetery in Naoma.
Wayman's death certificate lists him as having been buried in the Surratt Cemetery in Arnett on Dec 15, 1940. He isn't currently listed in any of them.
Wayman's mother was Celia Surratt, possibly a relative of yours? I'm guessing he was buried in her family's cemetery, whichever one that was. But being that his father was a Lemon (Leander Burman Lemon), I would have thought he would be in the Surratt-Lemon Cemetery. I tried looking for both his parents, but neither of them have memorials either.
Any idea which Surratt Cemetery in Arnett he might be in?

Jeptha & Lena Seratt

We just received the photo requests for the Seratts that you placed on Fairview Cemetery today.

We are wondering what information you have that states they are buried in Fairview cemetery? The reason being we placed all cemetery records from Fairview Cemetery onto Find A Grave. It took about 1 1/2 years to do so because there were so many. When we started it was under 3,000 and when we finished there were over 13,000.

I will be calling the cemetery tomorrow to see if they have any listing for the Seratts but I am almost certain they will not. Not saying they aren't buried there, but the cemetery office might not have any information on them.

According to the cemetery records of Neely Chapel, there is only one Seratt buried there. That is Clifford O. Seratt; June 19, 1918 - September 26, 1988.

There will be NO MARKER for any other Seratt's at this cemetery. It is an old cemetery but very well taken care of.

It could be very possible they are buried there but there are no headstones.

Yesterday, I walked all of Elmwood Cemetery. There are two Mannasmith markers -one for Wm Andrew Jr and wife Dorothy and one for Maureen Smiley "wife of Lester Mannasmith". I took pictures of the area where your FOPC site indicates the graves are. Maureen's marker is the only one there.

I contacted the Coin City Clerk's Office and they confirmed that they have no record of any other Mannasmith burials in Elmwood.
