Rosa Sharon Selig
Rosa Sharon was one of the nine children of Peter T. Sharon and Bridget McCall Sharon. (The name Sharon was spelled by some of the family with two Rs - Sharron.) She was born 17 May 1863, in Henderson Co., Kentucky. I have a photo of her.

Rosa married Adolphus G Selig on 29 April 1885 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She died less than a year later, on 14 March 1886. Family records indicate that a daughter was born, named for her mother. I am not sure whether the daughter lived.

One of her sisters was Adelaide "Etta" Sharon Dew, my great-grandmother.

Jacob Byler
This is the info. I have from the book Ivy Township Cemeteries: Jacob Byler was the first person buried in the cemetery. He was killed when his powder mill exploded in 1804. Field Stone with large "B" inscribed. Grave of Jacob Byler. Son of Jakob Beiler; 1742-1804. I must have made his findagrave memorial before I took the photo. I am of no kin to your 6x great gram' far that is....if I keep digging I may make a connection one day! :)
I think you are right about the "new" tombstone. It does state 1737 as a birth date. I will go fix his memorial with the 1737 birth date. Sorry for the blurry pic of his tombstone. I will try to visit the cemetery soon and take a better photo. This time I believe it's not your bad eyesight causing the problem. My blurry photo of his tombstone is the blame for not being able to read the inscription!!! I can't read it either!

RE: Winters
:) The Rush Chapel in MO I added just abt every memorial listed on there. And 'everyone' buried there is related to us... Rush, Sullens, Winters, Loveall and some others. If you run across anyone that I haven't linked just let me know. I've been working on that off & on for awhile, trying to link our relatives all together. :) I love this site! It has been so helpful with researching our relatives.

Hugs back! ~Cherie~

The Selig Family
Helo Kathleen! My name is Julie (Selig) Waters and Adolph G. Selig was my father's grandfather. My father's father was Adolph Henry Selig, he passed away when my father was only 7 years old of a massive heart attack. My father, Larry Adolph Selig passed away 3 months ago from cancer at age 62. My father did meet his Uncle Clifton in around 1980, and I know that Clifton passed away in 1981. We live in California and my grandmother Camilla Faye came here with Adolph Henry in the mid 1940's. My grandmother is still alive and is 92 years old. Please email me at I just signed up with and I've traced the Selig's back to August F. Selig, my great great grandfather who came here from Germany, and his wife Hannah from Prussia. Would love to work with you on building our family tree and get to know my distant relatives. Hope to hear from you soon!
