So good to hear from another family connection. I have been stumped about the death of her father. I was told by some that he died in the civil war...however, I have not been able to find that. I also, have Lola and John living with family too as her mother died, I think when she was about 8 yrs. old. Can you provide information on Lola and John's grandparents? I would love to get this figured out. Planning another trip to southern IL in a few months. Also, do you have a memorial on John? would love to see it. I've seen some pretty neat stones at East where families seem to have done just that. Gone back and listed everyone on a newer stone. That would be wonderful. Those are somewhat empty Plots. One wonders what happened. Ask around the family--you're a Baptist! See if anyone knows if a stone was picked out, or placed. Have you been to Jax East? It's a rough cemetery, like so many; been thru a lot. But 1933 and 1943 are not so old. They were all somewhat war years, when I understand stones may not have been done.
