I have been researching John and Martha Albright for over 30 years and have never found a son call William Franklin. Where did you find him?

Cuyler photo request
Greetings - Calvary Cemetery isn't very cooperative in looking up grave locations to Find-A-Grave photography volunteers - they'll only do 3 at a time and recently cut me off from asking for any more locations. I was trying to add locations for the very large backlog of photo reqs for the cemetery; there's over 400 requests. Those that include the grave plot get photographed first, so I'd recommend that you add that info to the Find-A-Grave memorial page. Call 216-641-7575 for the cemetery office; they'll provide you 3 locations without charging you for them.

McIver Connections
Hi, While working on branches of my husband Jim's Brooks line, I found a bunch of McIver twiglets and their parents and siblings.

Lorene (Hartley) McIver # 30379762 is the wife of Hassell McIver # 30379761

Hassell McIver is the son of John Thomas McIver # 64117306 and Mary Frances (Smith) McIver # 64117322 - they are buried in Post Oak Cemetery, Camden, Benton Co. care of Rick

Rick has most of the siblings and their parents, Christa Holland has the grandparents, so I will inform them also.

It is great to get these families back together.

Cleveland Calvary Request
Just a friendly mid June reminder that we need plot info to fill your Cleveland Calvary request(s). We have less than 500 requests left but plot info for only 6% of those, having already filled the rest with plot info. We can't ask for plot info for more than 3 requests per week. Please call (216) 641-7575 and obtain plot info. We'd really appreciate it and will fill your request(s) soon after getting plot info. Thank you!

Calvary
You've put in request(s) at Calvary in Cleveland. Several of us are actively working to clear the more than 715 requests. We've actually cleared close to 100 in the past week. With 400,000 burials if you could please obtain plot information AND a plot map one of us will be more likely to be able to fill the request, as the office will only give out a little information to each person. The office phone number is (216) 641-7575. On my page I have the plot maps listed that we already have which is quite a few. If the burial is in one of those sections we don't need another map, just the plot info on the request.

You can try to tell them you'll be visiting when they're closed, etc. So far everyone who's called has been successful in having a map mailed, a few e-mailed. If you get one let me know and I'll give you my e-mail address. With thousands of graves per section a plot map would be VERY helpful. Without plot information it's basically impossible.

Thanks!

I believe that the date of death may be 1861 rather than 1881. I enlarged the photos to take a closer look. In 1870 his wife was shown as head of household, and in 1880 she was shown as a widow.

I've seen your photo request for Forest Lawn in Saginaw MI, but I have not been able to get to the cemetery. I'm writing to see if you've seen her death certificate at the following:

RE: George Thurman burial site
The Loutre Island Cemeteries have all been corrected and put in right counties on Find A Grave website.
The Loutre Island Cemetery on Hwy 19 now only has the sign with name posted and last time I checked no names listed. Note it is in Montgomery County, Mo. on Hwy 19.

The other Loutre Island Church and Cemetery is now listed in Warren County off Hwy 94 East 3 miles north of Mckittrick on Case Rd. with several graves listed. I found George Thurman 1862-1915 with parents of Green B. and Elizabeth Lee Thurman listed. Hope this is the George Thurman you are looking for.
There is a good picture of the old Church posted and also note in some local history it is refered to as the Loutre Island Brick Church and Cemetery.

Correction to Location of Loutre Island Cemetery

I have made a error in location of the Loutre Island Brick Church and Cemetery after giving it some thought I realized the Montgomery and Warren county line was close to town of Mckittrick so after checking maps and an old newspaper article from April 14, 1992 in the Hermann Advertiser-Courier the Loutre Island Brick Church and Cemetery is in Warren County. It is off Hwy 94 East 3 miles east of Mckittrick off of Case Rd. Some death certificates will state Case, Bridgeport and Mckittrick and all are in this area.

I was looking at a plat map of Montgomery County and Mckittrick and it showed a church off of Walnut St in Mckittrick and I assumed it was the Old Loutre Island Brick Church, then after sending emails and thinking about it ,I done more checking, which I should have done in the beginning.

What caught my eye was the sign saying Loutre Island cemetery, knowing it was the sign off Hwy 19 and the first listing of Michelle Ann Engemann as I knew she was buried at the Old Church and Cemetery site.

To clear this up there are only two Loutre Island Cemetery in the area; one in Montgomery County off Hwy 19 and the other is in Warren County off Hwy 19 East and Case rd. (note the direction is 94 EAST not West I know it is confusing and I thought it was West until I gave someone directions for another way to go to Warrenton and they ended up in Callaway County!!)

As to where the burial of site posted above is I am not sure if it is the one off Hwy 19 or the Church and Cemetery off Hwy 95 East.

I am sorry for the confusion and now have to notify all that was listed as to my mistake. It goes to show one should never
assume anything even through they think they know the area that good, there are always technical things to consider such as county lines.

Correction to location of Loutre Island Cemetery

Robert

I have made a error in location of the Loutre Island Brick Church and Cemetery after giving it some thought I realized the Montgomery and Warren county line was close to town of Mckittrick so after checking maps and an old newspaper article from April 14, 1992 in the Hermann Advertiser-Courier it is in Warren County. It is off Hwy 94 East 3 miles east of Mckittrick off of Case Rd.

I was looking at a plat map of Montgomery County and Mckittrick and it showed a church off of Walnut St and I assumed it was the Old Loutre

Island Brick Church, then after sending emails and thinking about it ,I done more checking, which I should have done in the beginning.

What caught my eye was the sign saying Loutre Island cemetery, knowing it was the sign off Hwy 19 and the first listing of Michelle Ann Engemann as I knew she was buried at the Old Church and Cemetery site.

(note the direction is 94 EAST not West I know it is confusing and I thought it was W until I gave someone directions for another way to go to Warrenton and they ended up in Callaway County!!)

And that is the reason your death certificates don't match, all those names Case, Bridgeport and Mckittrick etc would be the area of the Old Loutre Island Church and Cemetery.

As to building a Cemetery on Find A Grave site I don't have access to a scanner, etc for posting a map from the Warren County map that shows location. This map does not state the Twp, Sec, and Range. So if you can and want to construct the cemetery feel free to do since you already have some listing and death certificates. I am having some medical test done next week and looking at some health issues that may keep me from going to Warrenton to get this info needed to post it.

I am sorry for the confusion and now have to notify all that was listed as to my mistake. It goes to show one should never

assume anything even through they think they know the area that good, there are always technical things to consider such as county lines.

Loutre Island Cemetery Montgomery County Mo.
I seen your contribution to the Loutre Island Cemetery and you have the wrong Loutre Island Cemetery. I am a long time resident of the area and know about both cemeteries and the first name listed is the granddaughter of my neighbor so I know where she, (Michelle Ann Engemann) is buried.

The picture of the sign that is listed is along Hwy 19 before you get to Loutre Shore Country club and the town of McKrittrick. And is a colored cemetery I do not know the names of any buried there and it is possible there are other races buried there. And maybe your listing is for a colored race however Michelle Engemann was of the white race.

When I clicked on the map it also had it located off Hwy 19, I see this sign every time I go to Hermann.

The other Loutre Island Cemetery is off Hwy 94 East then off Walnut St in town of McKrittrick. This cemetery is also the site of the Loutre Island Old Brick church and located in Twp 46N R5W Sect 23. There are several burials there.

I am sending a note to all who have posted on this site and also to Find-A-Grave website concerning this matter.

The Golden Rule
Greenwood Cemetery in Phoenix

I would photograph these, and I
certainly dont mind going out
there, it's a lovely cemetery,
but the staff on site only
"work on commission" so
obtaining locations is a
serious pain. I dont know
if maybe you could get them
to get the locates, but I
would gladly take the pictures
if I knew where the plots were. :-)
I even have my own maps already!

Just a thought
Thanks!

Doesn't look like Georgetown Undertakers still exist. I'm stuck for any other leads.
Maybe one last lead would be to ask Calvary to do a Manual Record search which they will do for a fee.

"Additional information may be available about the person whose name you submitted in the database search. There is a nominal fee to perform a manual search of the cemetery records."

Here's the web site for the request form

RE: Sidney Cuyler
Well, here's the reply I got on Sidney. Looks like you would need to order his death certificate to determine the right cemetery
############################################
Here is the question that you asked:

Looking for the cemetery or final disposition of Sidney T Cuyler Birth: Dec. 1, 1849 Michigan Death: Nov. 17, 1918 Seattle, Washington Son of John Sydney Cuyler and Hannah Harris. Wife is Matilda Stegmire

Here is the answer to your question:

Lorie,

Thanks for using the Ask A Librarian service. Unfortunately I did not find any funeral announcement or obituary for Sidney Cuyler in the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, the Seattle Daily Times, the Seattle Star, or the Ballard News.

The cemetery should be noted on his death certificate, copies of which are available from the Washington State Department of Health: http://www.doh.wa.gov/EHSPHL/CHS/cert.htm#OrderingThroughCHS

Thanks again for contacting the Washington State Library. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Calvary Cemetery Cleveland, OH Photo Request
Dear Find a Grave Member, I just wanted to let you know that Calvary Cemetery is a huge one with at least 300,000 graves in it. It is impossible to find a grave marker their without a Section, lot, and grave number. The cemetery staff is also very reluctant to give that information to a nonfamily member. If you would like someone to find your loved ones marker it would be very helpful if you could call the cemetery at 216-641-7575 and get a plot description. Have a great day!

I have not been able to find a Greenwood Cemetery in or near Spray. A couple of possibilities:
Greenwood Presbyterian Church near Reidsville, but I don't know if they have a cemetery. Phone: 336-349-9548.

Another long shot is First Baptist Church cemetery in Eden, which is on Greenwood Street. Although I have spent the past several days walking that cemetery and taking pictures, and comparing my photos to a list taken in 1994. I didn't find a Lula Stiers there. Although there are many, many graves marked with plain, unidentifiable field stones (no writing), and several that had only funeral home markers per the 1994 list that are now missing.

I have looked everywhere around here for a Greenwood Cemetery, but no luck. The three main municipal cemeteries in the Spray area are side by side and they are: Meeks Cemetery, Woodlawn Cemetery, and Overlook Cemetery. There is a Greenwood Presbyterian Church near Reidsville, but I don't know if they have a cemetery. phone: 336-349-9548
