|Sheila Hubbard||RE: A shot in the dark|
I am interested in genealogy! Got my DNA test back and have the family tree up on Ancestry. I found all the Smith relatives all the way back to my 10th ggrandfather on Alma Smith's side. Found the Pike's on Alma's mother's side all the way back. The issue I'm having is finding J R Minshew's, my great grandfather's parents and family. Can't find him before 1900. Do you have any information? I did get his death cert from Greene Co. I couldn't find any enlightenment there either. I would love to see pictures! I knew Sarah in her older years and she went by Vivian. I named my first child Sarah Vivian after her. My grandma sure loved her and she was so sweet to me. Let's trade information please.

|Rachel Gillooly||William E. Minchew|
I am working on an adoption birth family finder case for a client who was born in Florida January 1976. She was given up for adoption and told her father was William Earnest Minchew. He was stationed in Mayport Naval Station at the time. She was told he has family in Texas. She says he was married to her birth mother to Alisa Buescher. She was hoping this is him. We used search sites and the only one listed with this name in the same area. is the one. I hope this is right. She said he may have remarried once again. She does not know very much details. I am supposed to get back to her.

I was under the mistaken impression that all the information had been added by you. Sorry for the confusion. Is there a way I can add her mother's name and an asterisk indicating the half siblings to the find-a-grave site for her? I've used find a grave for several years, but never have known exactly how it works. Thanks for your response!

Hi, I saw that you left a note on my aunt, Lee Ann Minchew Brai's page. I was just curious in the Minshews and Minchews are related in anyway?? I know that sometimes the spelling of names can change.

I can change her final disposition to "cremated location of ashes unknown" until you can find out where she will be placed. I really dislike those type of obits that don't list ANY form of final disposition!

|Sandra Gill Worthan||Memorial for James Henry Minchew|
Just wanted to thank you for sponsoring and creating this memorial . James Henry Minchew was my husband's maternal great grandfather. His grandfather Ira Minchew is buried at Trinity Memorial in Howard County, Texas. Husband has fond memories of his Minchew grandparents. First wife of James H. Minchew was Annie ? Not sure of her maiden name. She passed away about 1905 from his mother had two children Pearl & Ira. Thanks again, Sandy

|Searching_bloodlines||Mildred Joyce Minshew Fowler|
Hello from Atlanta!
Yesterday I travel 4 hours south to Young's Chapel Cemetery to find my wife's paternal great grandmother, Lela Norris Reeves but to no avail. I believe her grave is unmarked as I did find Lela's father, Solomon Norris and Lela's death certificate shows she was buried there.
Regardless, I'm just writing to let you know that I searched every marker in this small, forgotten cemetery and could not find a memorial for Mildred Joyce Minshew Fowler. I suspect she too is in one of the unmarked graves.

|Wayne Gregor||Effie Latham Minchew|
I am trying to identify the Minchew who married Effie in 1923. This was her 3rd marriage. Her 1st husband was Tom Mosteller 1842-1905 and her 2nd was William V Armstrong 1880-1919. She is #21759006 in Ables Springs Cemetery. She has 2 memorials. Her stone and death cert death month disagree by one month. Her death cert. clearly shows May. Any help would be appreciated.

You created 2 memorials to her, one using Minshew as last name, and one using Hood as last name, just FYI

This is very interesting! The Maplewood listing shows Joseph Paul Price, born 12 Mar 1857, died 20 Nov 1923. Same dates as you wanted, but slightly different name! There are no women named Harriet Price, or anyone with the dates you have for her.
I looked through the listings for all Wilson County cemeteries and I don't see a Harriet Price. Once in a great while I do figure out there is an omission in these listings, but usually they are very accurate. So it is possible she is in Maplewood or another Wilson County cemetery somewhere.
I have actually decided to run to Wilson tomorrow. If I can get by Maplewood, I will try to find Mr. Price. I know what section he is in, and fortunately it is one of the smaller ones. I will let you know if I get there and can find him.

Hi, I have the complete listing of Maplewood burials up through 1998, as published by the Wilson County genealogical society. There is one Joseph Price listed: Joseph Paul Price b 12 Mar 1857 d 20 Nov 1923. I don't see a Harriet Price.
Are you looking for someone who died after 1998? If so, I'll need to stop at the office and ask. It is very rare that I can get to Wilson on a weekday since I work full time and I live near Raleigh. The office is not open on weekends.
Let me know full names and birth/death dates and I'll see what I can find for you.
The cemetery office is very good about looking things up, but not usually "on the spot". Before I got the listing, I went to the office and left a list for them. It took them a few days but they emailed me back with the location of the graves I was looking for. Maybe just for one or two grave it would be quicker; I had a fairly long list!

It may seem petty but I posted the other memorial for Jewell McGuyer and as mine is the first one could you please post your photo also upon it? It will ask the other contributor to remove theirs but I am not sure they will. Thanks so much for all you have done.
