Thank you for bringing this to my attention. They aren't exactly duplicates as the other memorial, while older, lists her by her maiden name. Her parents are buried nearby. I have done a little research and further augmented the family's pages. Since I have worked with Shirley before, I have written to ask her how she wants to handle combining the two. If I simply deleted mine, information would be lost. Thank you again for bringing it to my attention.

Find A Grave Memorial# 116621565
L Winslow, Thank you for creating the Find A Grave Memorial# 116621565 - labeled Georgie Curtis.
Looking at the photo attached to this memorial, I believe this is acutally my Great grandaunt: Georgianna Alma Meservie/Meservey. She was born May 3, (1849). She was married 4 times, lastly to Freeman Curtis, all four of her husbands preceeded her in death.
Can you share with me any information you might have on this memorial that you created?
Thank you for any help you can provide to help me prove my theory.
with kind regards,
Barbara Tourtillott

No, I am not a descendent. I just enjoy getting out and photographing cemeteries, and sometimes restoring them. I can transfer the management of the memorial to you if you like.

Thanks for adding the photo of the headstone for me. Her 1st married name was Rhodes so I declined the edit and added her maiden name that I had forgotten to do. Thanks again for all that you do for findagrave.

Ruth Bradbury Tilden # 102376779
Hello:

Clarifying Bradbury-Tilden information.

This is a case in which the headstones (plural) are wrong for this family...and must have been placed later in time. You can also tell this from the style of stone. I was fortunate to be able to conduct extensive research for this family in the archives of SLC. I probably should post a note referencing the film #12,836 - and also the book of York wills & probates from Ruth's grandfather, Cotton Bradbury.

Thanks for the heads up...have you been contacted by a relative on this? If so, I will be glad to take a referral and can provide documentation on different elements of this family.

Elva E. Jewett: # 119054244
I believe Elva E. Jewett is actually Joseph G. Jewett's wife. Elva E. Clough, daughter of Joseph Clough and Arletta V. Partridge, married Joseph G. Jewett 31 December 1873 at Belfast, Waldo County, Maine. Elva was born 06 July 1853 at Stockton Springs, Waldo County, Maine. Hope this helps.

Thank you
Thank you for the transfer. Since his grave is unmarked and you state that the information is from office records, did this info come from the cemetery's office? Did you have access to the original records? Do you think you have made a complete list of all burials in that cemetery? Family legend says that Carl is buried next to his wife Jensine Meredine Petersen who died about 1920. I am holding out hope that she might still be at the Northfields Union Cemetery.

Thank you for letting me know the other memorial for Sarah was deleted. I added my stone photo to the remaining memorial since, as you pointed out, it shows all of the lettering in her surname. Thanks again for alerting me of the Taylor memorial and for your help in getting this cemetery shipshape! -Judi

Johanna Wasmund Kasdorf
Hi. Thank you for your message regarding my GG Grandmother Johanna. Yes, I know her first husband was Johann "John" Wasmund. I believe he is buried in Cook County, IL, but haven't found any record so far. She had 7 young children when he died in 1866. My GG Grandfather Johann Frederich Wilhelm Kasdorf (called Fritz or Fred) had 4 children when his first wife, Katharina Kraatz, died around the same time. Together they had 4 children, so a total of 15. I was very fortunate all were named in her will. When her children were young, they went by Kasdorf, but went back to Wasmund when they became adults. Her daughter, Sophia Wasmund married his son, Frederich Walter Kadorf who were my great grandparents, so John Wasmund is also my GG Grandfather on my G-grandmother's side. Sophia and Fred had nine children. I have seen 3 different maiden names for Johanna, including yours of Pickhardt. I will be anxious to research that one when I have the time. Thank you again. Charlene Kasdorf

Ft. Sheridan misc.
Hi,

I'm preparing a list of photos needed at Ft. Sheridan, and just wanted to thank you for including section and plot numbers on the memorials you've made there. It makes compiling a list with locations much easier.

Thanks,

Colleen

Your are welcome. I read the obit you posted, the burial permit is our legal document. I thought it strange also.

I had been routinely posting obituaries to the memorials I created. Then someone complained to the Find A Grave administrators about one of the obituaries. The Administrators made me aware of their policies regarding posting of obituaries in any manner to memorials. This is what it says in the "Help with Find A Grave" section:

"Can I add an obituary to my interment listing?

You should not copy obituary notices from newspapers (or from funeral home notices or web sites) to an individual's memorial record unless you have permission from the newspaper to do so or you are the author of the obituary. Some obituaries that were published in 1922 or earlier are now in the public domain. In general, obituaries in newspapers are submitted by the family with assistance from the funeral home. If the obituary is added to the memorial record, it should list the newspaper and date the obit was printed for example "Published in the Hattiesburg American, Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Internet Edition, April 11, 2007". Please do not include the names of living or surviving relatives in the biography, unless you have their permission. If you do not have permission to copy an obituary to a memorial, you may put a note stating the name of the newspaper and the date the obituary was published.
Please do NOT add photographs from obituary notices (unless you, personally took the photo), as they are protected by copyright law. Find A Grave reserves the right to remove obituary notices and photographs from memorial records. Similarly, you may NOT scan an obituary and add it as a photograph to a memorial record. Obituaries for "famous" individuals are usually written by newspaper staff and can not be posted to Find A Grave as the newspaper company owns that copyright. Please do not include website addresses that may be listed in the obituary as they usually expire within a year after the obituary is printed."

I thought the wording was a bit ambiguous so I emailed the administrators and their reply was, in no uncertain terms, that we MUST have written permission from the newspaper of online source to copy and post obituaries in Find A Grave memorials.

Fort Sheridan updates and photos
Thank you for sending me a note of thanks about the updates and photos I have been adding. I am glad you appreciate them as I was a bit worried I was inundating you with too many birthdate entries. I am trying to snap & add photos for all of the Find A Grave memorials at Fort Sheridan that do not have them yet so, since you don't mind, I will continue to send birthdates for those that are missing and perhaps a parent/spouse link when they can be confirmed. I would like to extend my thanks and gratitude to you for so kindly adding so many memorials to the database and for INCLUDING their plot numbers! :) Sincerely, Judi
