Mary E. Hanlon/Handlon Mead
Wondering if you are related to this family. I assure there is no "d" in our name. Her father is the older brother of my husband's great-grandfather, Felix Hanlon. Strange enough, Felix's son, Norman, married Bertha Rose Haught so my husband's paternal grandparents are named Hanlon and Haught and I did extensive research on them and published my findings back in 1995.

I am now researching the Joy family of Monroe and Washington Counties, OH and by coincidence, Mary Anne Joy married Rufus Hanlon and so there is a connection to my husband's mother's Joy family also.

Mary E. Hanlon Mead's parents are Rufus Hanlon and Mary Anne Joy for sure. They lived in Ohio, but Rufus died in a Confederate Prison in Tyler, TX on 19 Oct 1864 leaving Mary Anne with seven children ages 3 - 13. She remained in Ohio, but I can't find where Rufus is buried.

I thought Mary E and Samuel Mead were buried in Ohio, but after reading your info, I am still looking and if I find anything certain, will let you know.

Eunice Koon
If you will send me your email address I can give you the phone number of a cousin who has done extensive work on the family tree. As for the connection with Charles to Eunice as spouse I think that was done automatically by the findagrave site. She was never married. My email is Janice has been researching the family for several years and has a lot of info that should be of help to you. Darlene

Walter Glen Salisbury Memorial
Noticed that you lacked the maiden names for Walter's wives' mothers.

Beulah Elizabeth Huber was the daughter of Sidney Huber and Della Gay Nutter.

Naomi Grace Rice was the daughter of Frank B. Rice and Martha Jane Cogar.

Hope this helps.

Khun/Hall Marriage
I belive the reason Marjorie and Argie didn't get married until 1968 is because he wasn't divorced from his wife Jessie Lewis until oct, 14, 1968 in Caldwell, North Carolina.

I'm thinking you may have put in an edit request around the same time I made the link myself. Am I wrong?

Added by MarLa on Jan 03, 2015 3:20 PM

Thank you for the addt'l info. Just yesterday, I had found the obituaries for several of the Eastern Cemetery Moores, including Dorothy! You mentioned you were hoping to find more info on an ancestor who was married 8 times - my biological father was married at least 7 times (out of 3 women, my mother was the only one he hadn't remarried).

Maria Koontz - Mound Cemetery
You submitted a photo request for Maria Koontz in Mound Cemetery, Marietta, OH. There is no marker for her. However, there are other Koontz family members buried in her plot. In Owen Hawley's book on Mound Cemetery he writes: "Wife of Phillip, mother of Mrs. D. W. Dye." Other Koontz names on this stone are Phillip, Charles, Henry, and two children.

Joseph Kelbauch
Today we drove to Mount Tabor Cemetery and found the monument for Joseph Kelbauch. If you are still needing photos of this email me at and I will send them to you. You can then post the one you prefer. If you still need a photo of the marker for Rosemary Kuhn I will try to find it. I grew up in Dalzell and know the cemetery fairly well. I am related to the Koons through my Grandma Walters' side. Her mother was Elizabeth Katherine Koon Phelps(Memorial# 19208444).

Henry Hufman
I can do that and thank you for wanting to share your information. If you email me at I will email you what genealogy I have of the Hufman family to your email. I would certainly like to hear from you as to what you have on the Hufman family and the Pew/Pugh family. Henry Hufman would be my Great-Great Grandfather. My Great Grandmother Melissa Jane Hufman has sworn in affidavits, that her family name is spelled with one (f) and I see you have used (ff) in the spelling?
Hoping to hear from you soon, please send me your email.

Her first husband Olin E Young is my grandfather. I am the grandchild from his second marriage to Maude Murphy. Not sure if you did the wonderful job of writhing this information about her, but I just wanted to update the info because Olin and Maude had 1 girl and 1 boy.

He infact remarried again after the divorce to Maude, and had some more children (although not sure how many.)

Thank you so much, I learned things about my grandfather I never knew. He and Maude divorced when my father was very young and I never knew him nor did my father. Unfortunately in 1986 my father passed also of pancreatic cancer just like Olin did.

If you have any other information on Olin I would love to hear the stories or if you have pictures. I only have 1 of him. Would love to see more.

Thank you again

Flaherty, James Vincent
James Vincent was my great grandfather. The stories handed down claim that James Vincent's father was named James Patrick, changing O'Flaherty to Flaherty. I have not been able to produce anything from a search using this name. Your information says his father's name is Michael, mother's name Bridget. Do you have any documentation? I also added family photos to "find a grave." I have other documents and photos to share if you would like to consider trading information.

Disregard my previous post, I meant Barton Mercer's family in the New Cumberland Cemetery. If I see ANYTHING in reference to LEVI Haught, I'll pass on the information to you.

RE: Thanks for connecting Nathan
I know his son Albert is in New Cumberland (memorial #112120646) because I added him last year with a photo of his headstone. Now I am not sure of his bio since Rebecca is probably not his mother. I believe I got my information from the census, but I'll double check. Also, I know Rebecca's son John W. Bartimus is in the New Cumberland. I didn't add his memorial, but I saw it. I will be going to the New Cumberland Cemetery in the near future and will be happy to see if I can find any more of their family members if you would like.

Rebecca (Haught) Bartimus Mercer
Thank you so much Anastasia, for the information on Rebecca Haught. I corrected her maiden name on Nathan Mercer's memorial, but hesitate to leave the Bartimus completely off since his brother's name is John William Bartimus. I did find an Oct. 6, 1865 Ohio marriage date for Jacob S. Bartimus and Rebecca Haught that was "unsourced". Jacob S. Bartimus passed away shortly before his son John William Bartimus was born in 1868...
