RE: Charles Vollmer
Thank you. I hadn't quite gotten to his page yet so thanks for the help.

I wonder if he had a photo in an old year book. Or do you think that photo of him in uniform is from the high school year book?

That would be interesting to see the memorial book information. Maybe you could add it to his page.

Interesting. What is your source? Now I see you have added a photo. And there is family resemblance.

I did see in his mother's obituary that he preceeded her in death so that makes sense.

Can you link him to his parents?

Charles Vollmer at Rock Island National Cemetery
Hi Jim
I was wondering if this Charles Vollmer (1283283) is the same Charles Vollmer that is the son of Charles Vollmer Sr and Clara Vollmer (124640648 & 124641168)?

Charles Sr. is the brother of my great grandmother Anna Marie Vollmer Bell.

Rodeck info
Thanks Jim for the interesting info on Mr. Rodeck. Yes, very interesting info indeed. I'm re-watching Ken Burns "The War" on PBS and very humbled that this man, among many, many others gave his life for our country. Thanks for sharing and thanks for the nice photo of him, too.

RE: Albert McArthur
Not that I'm aware of.

Nothing has passed down over the years.

What would be the process?

I did send off for his file recently. I'm guessing it would tell me what medals he should have received.

RE: Marvin C. Harris
Jim, thank you so much for the link to my great uncle's military record. We all knew he was in the Bataan Death March but knew nothing else. His son will be very grateful for this. Also there is one mistake that I noticed. He had 3 sisters not 2. Thanks again! Brian

Dennis Lee Brokaw, Sr. Lcdr. USN Ret.
RE: Glenn Brokaw
Jim, Thank you for sharing the info from your web page on Glenn D. Brokaw. The info on his military service was very interesting and I will add it to my database. I had some but not all of it. However, the information concerning his parents is incorrect. He was the Son of Clarence Dale Brokaw and Ethel Marie (Barrett) Brokaw. He was born in Lebanon, Potter Co., South Dakota. His mother, however was born at Gettysburg, Potter Co., South Dakota. He and his parents were still listed in South Dakota state census in 1925, so it would appear that he arrived in California between 1925 and 1939. Hope this is helpful in getting the correct information for your project.

RE: Water Daffron
This site is very interesting and I will pass it on to his children. His oldest son has passed away. I was Walter's 2nd cousin. I noticed the Term of (RAMP) on the roster of personnel from the Company. Have not been able to find out what this means. Do you have any idea what this means. Again thanks for this site. I spent 37 1/2 years in the Army, and the last 34 1/2 years I was in the Missouri Army National Guard Unit that these personnel came from. You see this Tank Comany came fron St. Joseph, MO, sent to the west coast, was split in half. One half went to Baatan and the other half went to the Illuetion Island, off Alaska, and fought in the Battles for them.

RE: Ralph Hite
Thanks for your msg. I have a full-page copy of a photo of Ralph in his uniform. My brother has the original photo. I could request that he mail it to me and we could scan and send it to you. We would need your email address, of course. Thanks for what you do to remember these men who gave so much of themselves under such horrifying conditions.

Thank you for adding the two photos to my uncle's FindaGrave page. He was Ralph K. Hite, the radio operator for the 192th Tank Battalion. And was my mother's only sibling.
