Rachel McFadden Ayers
I'm sorry - What I should have said was, do you have any concrete evidence what Anne's last name was. I thought it might be Muse but someone else told me they believed it was Smith. No one has any hard evidence to support that. I would love to have the name of Rachel's grandparents on her fathers side. I can not find it anywhere.
Sorry for the confusion.
Thanks Deb

Rachel McFadden Ayers
I know this has been a while after your posting but I was hoping you may have some info on Rachel. I know all of her info except the date of her marriage to Moses and her mother's (Anne)
maiden name. Her father was William McFadden.
He died in 1790 in Fairfield Co., SC. It looked like Rachel and Moses left that area sometime after Anne died in 1794. I have been to SC and could not find where their graves are, but of course where they lived last is all under water.
The big municipal power plant flooded the whole area back many years ago without moving the
graves up on higher ground. That really upsets me
that they could not be more considerate of our ancestors. If anyone needs any info or has any additional info concerning Rachel, please feel free to leave a message.
Thanks Deb

RE: John and Henrietta Fowler
Hi Karen, If I am correct (and this is not my line)Miles Wilburn Fowler had a son John Adams Fowler and wife Henrietta that came to Courtney in the Chickasaw Nation abt 1874 then moved to Duncan, Indian Territory abt 1893.
John fowler's sister Elizabeth and Daniel Lawson lived at Courtney and Rubottom. Elizabeth died 1889 at Courtney. Her husband Daniel Lawson remarried, remained at Courtney, there on 1900 census, burried Illinois Bend. Elizabeth Fowler Lawson's son Jodie was born Jan 16, 1888 Courtney, Chickasaw Nation, in 1917 he worked for John Fowler at Duncan. Elizabeth's dau Myrtle b. Aug 1886 IT.
John had a brother Miles Fowler, his son Wilburn Fowler came to Oklahoma, I don't know how early. I know he was in Duncan in 1893 and a newspaper reference says he was visiting friends at Courtney in 1893.
Hope this helps your research. Scott

RE: John and Henrietta Fowler
Well Karen, I cannot figure out why I left the msg for you other than you maintained a grave (don't know which one),of a Fowler in Pontotoc Co., MS. John and Henrietta that I enquired about came from there to the Chickasaw Nation.

I sometimes get ahead of myself. Or behind!
Thank you

Hi, Karen!

If you will read the note on the memorial and read the information on the cemetery on the first page, you will see that I have a historical record through the University of Bristol of the the remains being turned over to the Cathedral in Shanghai, and that the cemetery has been destroyed, so having a current photo of the stone is not an option. I even posted pictures of the destoyed grounds:

Chris Nelson has been very thorough in photographing both the Hong Kong Cemetery you describe and the Jewish Cemetery in the same area in Happy Valley, and he has never posted a LeBas or a Le Bas photo. I'm shaking my head, 'cause if if the direct relatives were there and saw it, and went all that way, why didn't THEY take a picture?

You are welcome. I have noticed several memorials where it has added the name in a lighter color as a sibling. I do not know how to fix it. You might email findagrave at Be sure to add a link to the memorial.

re: Weir and Hall and ells famliies
Hello, I wanted to let you know that I qualified for the D.A.R. last year on the Hall lineage, and the Weir connection is already proven at the national level.

I wanted to give you my membership #913318, in case you are interested in applying to be in DAR. You can just prove your relationship back to John W. Weir. I proved on the Hall line via Daialthia Bulerma Josephine who was my grandmother's father's mother.

I have done extensive research on the Halls, Weirs and Wells families.
I believe that I have contacted you already asking how you were related to the Weir family?

The third photo is a setting photo showing the area around and behind her marker, which is in the center foreground. Did you not click on it a couple of times to enlarge it to its full size?

It's quite difficult to find burial spots online. You need to know where somebody lived and then find the funeral home or the church where the funeral took place and go from there. I live in Central New York now.

Oliver G Weir - Elm Springs
Thank you for your comments on Oliver. However, as noted on the page, his bio is pending. I have not had a chance to transfer the data in a narrative from the Elm Springs Tree to his memorial. Posting data without source and citation can cause errors. Research was on-going when I set the memorial. Thank you again. -- dennis

Martha Emmaline Ayers Reed
I am trying to determine if I have a relationship to this person (2x great grandmother). Do you have any conclusive proof she was married to John Young Reed (1818-1864) and that they had 6 children, including a William Rufus Reed (1860-1947), my great grandfather. The 1880 census shows a Martha E Reed living with William R Reed and Amos F. B. Reed. In 1900, she is living with William and his family in Texas. A number of family trees have this relationship. However, the birth dates are different for these two Martha Reeds although there often errors in these records.

Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated.

I added his parents names in the bio. As far as his place of birth his death record and the 1940 census both say he was born in Texas.

I also linked him to the memorial you created today for his first spouse..

Thomas Benton WAUGH
Hi Karen, I saw the photo request you put in and I thought he was connected to the Waughs I just added. I checked and he is at Guilford Memorial Park according to his death certificate. This record can be viewed at

Most likely he is right there in section 6 with those family members. It is possible I missed his marker when I was there!..or there is not one for him. I will go back and look again when I go back if I do not have a photo already in my files.

I have thousands of photos! That is an enormous cemetery. Its impossible to find one individual if you do not have a plot location. I do not even try to fill the requests there unless someone gets a plot location.

If it turns out there is no marker for him besides the family marker I can add that photo for your memorial but I did not want to do that until I figure it out so your photo request will stay active.

Hi, Karen....Do you happen to know the names of the three daughters and two sons of Millard and Laura?
It would be nice to get the offspring linked to the memorials of Millard & Laura.
Thanks, Richard
