RE: Ida Blevins Ellis
Thank you for linking her to her daughter. I will give you more info soon. Bessie was born in Virginia. Probably Saltville in Smyth County. I will have to get my old records out to know for sure.

You are most welcome. He sounded like a wonderful, kind man and your tribute to him shows that. I am sorry for your loss.

Thank you so much for your visits to my family memorials and also adding me to your friends list. I will do the same and hope to visit more. As you saw we just lost our daughter Teresa on Sept.9th and then the father of her 2 children was killed in a auto wreck on Oct.9th. As You know grief will make you sick and their are days I can hardly get out of bed. I visted your sponsored memorials if you have other family I missed please let me know!

Your Friend, Martha

I,too, am unsure about a headstone. Someone listed many Slyes in that cemetery. I have e-mailed them to see if I can get some further data. I will get back to you and if I don't hear something from them in a day or so, I will remove my request. Thank you for your help.

Grave of John Gillen at St. Joseph Cemetery
I saw that you have a grave photo request for John Gillen at St. Joseph Cemetery, Union County, South Dakota. John Gillen appears to be the only person to have been buried under the Gillen surname at that cemetery (based on fairly recent burial records for the cemetery); and, his grave is apparently unmarked (I have recorded all of the markers at St. Joseph). At some point in the future, I could try to figure out where he is buried and to get a photo of the site.

Glad to do it. I'm working on a project to get all of the tombstones photographed in our area, so be sure to check back to see if anyone else is related. Take care.

It was a nice day to get out after a South Dakota Winter.

There should be people around yet that would remember him. I can ask around to see if he is related to your grandfather. What is his name?

Have no idea. LOL I haven't taken a picture of this person. Some sort of glich in the system I guess. Can't even find her mentioned on the site.

Thank you for the photos! I added the info -- I noticed you have virtual cemeteries but for some reason I can't see them... Maybe a glitch? I appreciate your hard work!
