We were at the Abbey for a family reunion. What a beautiful setting for an eternal resting place.

|Patti Cashman||Mary Brogan at St Denis Cemetery|
I was determined to find Mary's grave marker but there is not one. I do have some information about plot: Section I Range 1 Lot # 5. It was purchased on 5/14/1905 by John Brogan for $60. It is stated that there are 4 graves in the plot but 7 names are listed as being buried in the plot.
the following are on the list:
Burial yr name burial date age
1917 Brogan Hugh 3/12/17 46
1918 Brogan Margaret 5/19/18 70
1923 Brogan John 5/1/23 77
1926 Culbertson John 3/6/26 50
1926 Gibbons Edward 7/1/26 64
1927 Donohue Baby 11/18/27 3 hrs
1931 Gibbons Margaret 11/13/31 62
I was mistakenly given this information by the cemetery office and thought I would share it with you. If you speak with the cemetery office, please do not let them know that I shared this with you. They are very protective of the information they have concerning who is buried there. They will share information with families but not Find A Grave volunteers. My husband is buried at St Denis and I was able to get some information before they said they cannot share anymore with me.
Happy 4th of July!

Same message as previous one. If you do not want the gravesite pictures, I will be happy to remove them.

Hi, I just posted the picture of Margaret's gravesite. Unfortunately, there is no headstone for either Kelly or Murphy there. Actually, that row Section Y, Row 8 is fairly void of headstones. Lot 22 would be to the right of O'Keefe but with O'Keefe's stone not being marked the the other stone further down not being marked, I was unable to determine where, exactly, the Lot would be. It is definitely one of the bare spots pictured though. If you do not want the picture of the site posted, just let me know and I will remove it immediately.

|linda schlenker||Frank J. McKeon|
There are 2 Frank J. McKeons buried at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. My ancestor, Frank J. McKeon was born in 1859 (in PA) and died 9/7/1924. His cause of death was myocarditis. The one you have added was born in 1856 and died 10/9/1923 from head injuries. The death certificate for my 1924 Frank shows he was buried by Kirk and Nice of Germantown while the certificate for your Frank lists McGoldrick of Jenkintown as the undertaker. I do not know if the 2 men are related but am interested in seeing a tombstone for both,

There's a Larry there, I see, but I don't know if they are buried together--you'd have to contact the cemetery for that info. Or maybe if you enter Photo Requests someone will get pics for you that would show that they are together.

|Courtney Hamilton||Honora Finnegan|
Hi, Eileen, sorry it took me so long to write back. I'm going to ask my mother and grammy about Honora. That name is strikingly familiar, and I believe one of my living cousins over in Ireland has that name as well.
My Grandmother is Mary Carter, sister of Theresa Carter Koenig, and daughter of Sue C. Finnegan. Sue was married to Michael Carter, a captain of the Los Angeles Fire Department. Sue's parents were John Finnegan and Susie Shields. Hope that helps!
I will let you know more about Honora, and where Sue "Shorty" Finnegan (my gg grandmother) was buried. I know she passed away on April 15, 1972, in North Hollywood, California, but I don't know where her gravesite is.

A friend of mine and I went to Old Cathedral where your request for Finnegan was in section S we walked through the whole section and about where you said the headstone would be I did see a Finnegan headstone but there was no names attached to it just the last name. I have no idea if this is the headstone you are looking for but it was in the approximate location in which you stated. Let me know when you can. :)

What a trip! Hi, Eileen... my name is Courtney Hamilton, and I'm a distant relative of yours. My mother is Colleen Kearns, daughter of Mary Carter Kearns -- sister of Theresa. Their mother was Sue C. Finnegan, my great-grandmother.. her nickname was "Shorty", and my mom said she was the best Grandma ever. I am researching genealogy as well, and I'm constructing a family tree on familysearch.org.
Cheers, and nice to meet you!

Thomas Dunlap was not a philadelphia fireman, but his son Samuel Dunlap was an Engineer in the fire department from around 1880 to 1908

|Jack ||RE: Timothy Mahoney|
My Great Grandfather, Dennis Mahoney, emigrated with his Father Timothy to Kellyville in 1881 when Timothy's Son, also named Timothy, paid for their trip. Timothy Jr. emigrated earlier and sent for the rest of his Family. I believe Timothy Jr did live on Denison Ave. He died in 1924 and is also buried at St. Charles. He was the uncle of my grandfather and had no children.
My Great Grandfather, Dennis, had 10 children and lived on Burmont Rd. My grandfather moved back to his childhood home when his sister Sadie died in 1981.

Thanks for posting my great great grandfathers grave
How did you come across his obituary ? I would like to read what it said
Did it mention his wife's name ?
My records indicate her name was Mary and they had 8 children. I know some of them were buried in St. Charles, as was my great grandfather Dennis Mahoney. My grandfather died in the home the home he was born in 4 years ago, had the funeral mass at Saint Charles, which is just 300 feet from his house where they all lived.

I also requested the memorial owner to add the family links for Catherine's parents, Vincent and Elizabeth, in St John's Cemetery at Old Saybrook.

I can see why it might have come as a curve. Nice of me to leave you a mystery message. Sorry about that.
You had left a flower posted on the memorial for Catherine LaCastro De Cristoforo, in Resurrection Cemetery in Westbrook, CT:
"We are trying to put the pieces together of the fateful flight your brother passed away in on 3-24-1944 in WWII. This has brought me here to you so thought I would leave you a flower.Rest in Peace.
Added: Nov. 8, 2012"
Since it looked like you were researching the family, I thought I'd drop you a note here. Sorry for the confusion.

Added gravestone photos for Catherine and Francis.
Was Catherine's brother's body recovered and buried, or was he lost at sea?

|Noreen Caden||RE: Hi Noreen.|
Would love to see pictures of the wedding. If you would like to have me as owner that would be great. I could start to add the other family members. I went to Holy Cross Cemetery on Sunday. I was looking for my mothers side. I found both of my great grandparents. I tried finding Mary Kelly but don't think I have the right information or couldn't find it. I will go again and see if I can find her.
