RE: duplicate burials in Barrett cemetery
Wow! That is amazing! It is so helpful to see the records posted on the memorials on Find-A-Grave.

Is she ill or is she still living? I hate to ask, but I have had the experience of finding out that someone who has posted information on ancestry or Find-A-Grave has died and that is why they do not reply to messages.

That IS very strange! I wonder why?

How did you get copies of all the Rush County marriages?

That is too bad because you have more info and pictures....But is she OK? Is she still doing Find-A-Grave?

RE: Nancy Oldham Kirkpatrick
I used flour, but I just read that it is not a great method "because it can penetrate into small pores of the stone, and when wet, the flour will swell and can cause flaking of the stone. Also, it is food for micro-organisms that can then live and grow in the stone, causing expansion and cracking." Eeek! I really messed up on that one. Back to the drawing board.

I found a new trick to reveal lettering on gravestones. I took a new picture for Nancy Kirkpatrick. Give it a look and see what you think. Thanks for your advice on cleaning the stones. You inspired me, and I think I've struck gold.

RE: nancy Oldham Kirkpatrick
That's a very interesting idea. I am a little concerned that the stone will sugar away if I attempt such a thing. How can you tell what kind of stone it is and if it will come to harm? I know some stones will hold up just fine whereas others aren't so tough.

Tombstone Photos
Hi,

I saw where on Find A Grave Memorial# 35560346 for Sarah Redmond Reeves you have placed a photo of a tombstone with the words, "Lost or Missing Headstone" on it.

Per Find A Grave rules no pictures for the tombstone other than the actual tombstone should be added.

Thanks,
Deb Redmon

RE: RELATED?
RUBEN "RUBY" OR "RC" CECIL CARTER IS MY GREAT-GRANDPA. MY GREAT GRANDMA VERNEYSA BILLS CARTER SAID THAT LITTLE BLUE RIVER CEMETERY IS WHERE GREAT GRANDPA, HIS PARENTS, HENRY & SARAH J (KIRKPATRICK) CARTER & BROTHER EARL CARTER ARE BURIED. SHE ALSO TOLD US THAT GREAT GRANDPA HAS NO MARKER. THAT IS WHY I ADDED HIM TO THE BURIAL RECORDS.

WERE ALL THE CEMETERY RECORDS DESTROYED IN THE CHURCH'S FIRE?

Weldon Stevens
This was my SAC... sorry if it was confusing, I should have been more clear:

Donn's last name is spelled wrong on
Weldon's Memorial - he is listed in the bio :) Thank
you!

Ahhh
In his bio... his son Donn's last name is misspelled... or two letters are transposed, rather. Thank you and sorry!

RE: Weldon J. Stevens
I checked your wall for reference to any message I may have written. Was it send in a SAC? I do not recall sending anything about Weldon. If I sent in a SAC, could you forward it to me, so I can refresh my memory as I don't usually send random messages without cause.. :/
Thank you!

RE: Marlyn Hungerford Thompson
Carolyn, looks good so far. However, you might be hearing from me again. We are dealing with several Marlyn Hungerfords and trying to sort them out. We have been led to believe that one of those Marlyn's first names really was Marilyn and Marlyn might have been a nickname. I'll circle back to you once we figure out the correct details. FYI, we are building a database of all Hungerfords world-wide including spouses and their descendants where Hungerford women married (a massive genealogy that is too big to publish in book form and we hope to put on-line soon, so we are trying to get as much correct detail in the database as possible). Thanks for your follow-up.

Hi Carolyn,

I deleted my record. I get my information from cemetery transcripts and sometimes the names are spelled wrong.

Take care and have a good weekend!

RE: Sarah E. Gordon, buried in Beech Grove Cemetery, Muncie, Indiana
The photo on the memorial page was taken last August in Beech Grove. It is in Section 6/OP 15 if you look on the map on Beech Grove's page. (There is no divider that I noticed between these 2 sections.) There are two more Gordon's in this area - Harry E. Gordon 1884-1924 and Mary Elizabeth Parrott Gordon 1901-1965. Whether or not they are related, I don't know. I wish I could help you more. I know not everyone is listed in the Library's lists as I have had this happen before. We took 679 photos that day and Harry's was no.23, Mary Elizabeth was no.84, and Sarah's was no.108 so they are fairly close together. If I can be of more help, please let me know.
