RE: Wilmer Ward
I have a lot of information on the Ward and Benford side of the family and I'd be happy to share it with you. Just let me know.

I did find an Annette M. Ward that died Nov 1971 in Dallas, TX, but she was a premature baby.

RE: Wilmer Ward
Hi Ed. The headstone only has the surname on it. Wilmer's information is only on the footstone. And Annette was still alive in 2012. The following is Wilmer's sister's obit where she mentioned Annette:

She is survived by a loving sister-in-law, Annette Vinson Ward, of Dallas, five nieces and nephews, Ivan Ward, of Coolidge, Amelia Ward Davison, of Dallas, William "Bill" Ward, of Mexia, Wilmer "Bill" Ward, of Coolidge, and Suzanne Ward DePaul, of Dallas; 13 great-nieces and nephews and 12 great-great-nieces and nephews, as well as loving friends in Tyler.
Mrs. Gibson graduated from Coolidge High School in 1938 and attended the University of North Texas. After her marriage, she moved to Tyler, where she lived until her death. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, of Tyler.

The family would like to thank The Heights of Tyler for exceptional care and give very special thanks to Linda Jones, who cared for Auntie for eight years with love and devotion.
Auntie - we will miss your feistiness. We love you.;

I found her daughter on facebook and she mentioned her mother in 2014. So she may still be alive. Her daughter lives in Georgetown, TX.

I have a photo of a marker for Houghton Wimsatt - 1897-1922 - would that be the same person you are looking for?

Thanks Ed. I do not know anything about the cemeteries in North Escambia.I just saw Mrs Gilley in two different cemeteries with photo markers.

RE: Alma Hampton
I cannot yet find where her parents are buried. I can see them in the Census records and their names are on Alma's death certificate, but they are not yet in Find A Grave and I don't see death certificates for them. If you would consider putting their names in her bio, someone in the future may be able to make the link.
Thanks for your consideration

Found the monument of G.T. Horton and it is so hidden behind a bush it was difficult to get photos. The bush is actually on another families lot (Jones-Downs) - all located in section 3, block 3 Forrest Cemetery. If you wish any of the photos removed, let me know.

I tried to find Mr. Horton's grave marker, but had no success. It was a very cold windy day ... I will try again or in the meantime another volunteer might locate it. Do know we are trying! ngl

A Walk Through Time
Grief Taylor Horton
I am researching Confederate Soldiers buried at Forrest Cemetery. I found an obit with the name Geo T Horton who died the same day as Grief T. Horton. I know from further research that Grief and Geo are the same person. Are you related to Grief Horton? I am curious if the paper messed up and listed his name wrong or if his name was actually George. I know all records show his name as Grief. If you have any info on this please e-mail me Sherry Clayton -

Hi Ed--good to hear from you. John Augustus was my mother's uncle. Her father was Charles Hugh Caruthers, buried at San Angelo, Tx.

Do you know anything about John Augustus?

Edward Sanders
I completed your photo request for Edward Sanders. His marker lists Sanders-Comer and has him next to Lucille L. Comer (1894-1997. I don't know who Lucille is or what her relationship to Edward is. I don't even know if that is a hyphenated name or if it is listing two separate names. So, I loaded Edward's photo on his memorial. There is no memorial for Lucille. I did not create one because of a lack of information. You have all the information you need to take my photo and use it on Lucille's memorial if you create one. Sorry, I just don't know what to do with Lucille, so I will leave it to you.

Thanks, Gwen

Hi Ed,
I added the info. you requested and transferred her memorial that Bud originally created to you. I believe memorials of family
should be in the care of family, even if it is a distant cousin.
Happy searching and God's blessings to you,
