|Robert Williams||Obituary Information|
Newspaper, Downey, Los Angeles County, California. Date: Thursday, August 24, 1933: "THOMAS O. HOOKER KILLED IN TRAFFIC ACCIDENT TUESDAY" "Thomas O. Hooker, of the Rivera district, was instantly killed Tuesday morning at the corner of Firestone and Paramount Boulevards when the car he was driving crashed with a ten ton truck loaded with gravel. He was thrown out of his car in the path of the heavy truck, and one of the wheels passed over his head. The gravel truck was driven by Amos Hoyt, Gardena, who stated the sedan Hooker was driving, loomed up in front of him as he was rounding the corner and was on the wrong side of the street. He made a desperate attempt to avoid the collision. The body of Hooker was removed to the Thos. L. Miller funeral parlor and an inquest held this morning. The jury found both drivers at fault. Mr. Hooker, 63 years of age, had lived in this district for seven years, coming here from Brownsfield, Texas. He had been Commissioner of Terry County, Texas for nearly two terms. For some time he has been residing on the F. B. Lyons ranch of San Gabriel Boulevard. Funeral services will be held at one o'clock this afternoon at the grave at Rose Hills Memorial Park. Elder J. A. Moore, of the Primitive Baptist Church, will be in charge of the service. He leaves to mourn their loss his widow, Mrs. Emily Hooker; sons Oliver of the George Barber ranch; William, Long Beach; Thomas, Bakersfield; John, of Texas; and daughters, Mrs. Meta Jenkins, Porterville, and Mrs. Ora Jones, of Hugh."

|Joan S.||RE: Thank You!|
Hi Fran. I'm glad you like the pictures I took of the Canfields. I think the snow adds a little interest. I had added a page for Frederick A., but I deleted it and added the pictures to the page you created - Frederick was handsome! I've added the monument picture to their parents' pages and submitted an edit to correct the spelling of Edmund's first name. Do you want me to add the monument picture to Louisa's page? She has her own headstone, but she is mentioned on the monument also. I wanted to try to fulfill your requests before the big storm hit. I don't know where you live, but we've gotten 3-4 inches so far today. Regards, Joan

I will be happy to work with you regarding these families. If you would provide me with an e-mail address, that would be preferable to the findagrave public messaging (include in an EDIT message). I have limited internet access and may be unavailable until Oct. 2. Liz

|Ashtabula Co. Gen. Soc.||Dorcas Leonard|
Fran - I am uncertain if you meant for Dorcas Leonard #118934162) to be the wife of Ezra Leonard as there is quite an age difference. Perhaps I edited it wrong. Please confirm or correct your intent for me. Thanks, Phyllis at Ashtabula Co. Genealogical Soc.

I have posted the picture you request for Leslie Margetts gravesite. He is buried with Anne Margetts, which might be his wife (??). I have created a memorial for her and posted the headstone there as well. I will be happy to transfer her memorial to you. Just let me know if you want me to.

I believe it worked this time--at least they both state that they were transferred to you. Sorry about the delay!

I added some information to Elton's memorial and then transferred it to you so that you can make any other additions you wish. Elton and Bernice are also my great uncle and aunt. I am Harold's grandson.

I think I transferred it to you. I had a little bit of difficulty, but it said it was already transferred. Let me know if it was not done properly.

|SCOTT RYCKEGHEM||RE: thank you and request|
the back actually has the same name as the large stone, best I can make out this is what it says.
Our Son (I think it says Son)
May 21 1899
Aged 56yrs (I can't make out the last word) 4 letters and the last 2 are ds.
I'm not close to the cemetery otherwise I'd run over and try and locate it for you again.
Hope this helps,

|Steve Harrison||Shepherd Curtis|
I added the memorial but none of the photographs and live in NC, so can't check. You might contact one of the photographers. It appears that the photo by Scott that you are asking about is an individual headstone for Shepherd (the death date, which is fairly legible is the same as on the large "family" monument.) Good luck. Perhaps someone can take a post a higher quality image. Steve

Back in April of 2011 I added a grave marker for my nephew LaVal Tracy. I also add his birth date and his parents information.
Sometime in June 'Recordagrave' added this same marker and you now have management of it. I just thought that you should know that there are now two instances of this memorial.
