RE: James Banning
Tom, I am so sorry for the poor quality of the photo for James Banning. The writing on the stone is terrible. This is the best that I could do. There were several names on this particular stone, including:

Isabel Rutherford/beloved wife of James Banning.
Margaret Rutherford (died Dec 3, 1898, aged 73), James Banning (died May 7, 1897, aged 71 yrs),
Mary Ann Ward, wife of James Banning,Sr. (she died Apr 6, 1896 aged 92 yrs),
Mary Fleming, born Feb 11, 1828/died Feb 10, 1884 (wife of James Banning),
Stanley Ross Banning, son of James & Isabelle, died Jan 13, 1895.

Hope this helps,
Janet in Chatham, ON

RE: Elmwood Cemetary-Winnipeg
Sorry it took so long for me to respond. I am glad Jim was able to get your photos; he's a great guy and very helpful.

Hi again Tom, It appears the william and Thelma I referred to are not Bannings, but from the adjacent plot behind the Banning plot. The pic shows the front of the plot, with no inscriptions on the large marker (any side) and only Cynthia as a ground marker. Hope that helps. Jim

Banning in Elmwood
Hi Tom, I made a visit and will be posting some pics soon for Cynthia Priscilla Banning. No markers for Court or George, but did see Thelma and William, which look like passed as young children (year or so). Thx Jim

RE: Elmwood Cemetary-Winnipeg
Hi Tom...

I actually live in Minnesota. I know some folks are taking photos at Elmwood but given that it is now winter, I am not sure how much they are doing. I did put in photo requests for your three relatives, and I will try to contact someone who does photos to see if they can help you. The other option, if you can, is to contact Elmwood directly and they will let you know if there are stones for them.

Charley Anderson
You didn't ask but there is a Charley Anderson buried next to Georgia I Anderson at White Chapel; I took a photo of his stone but he doesn't seem to have a memorial on Find A Grave. If you want to add a Find A Grave memorial his dates are May 19 1890-August 21, 1968. Let me know and I'll add the photo.

Lamar Gilchrist
I found his grave today. He shares a headstone with Isis Gilchrist and I'll add the photo to her memorial on Find A Grave as will as on his. The other thing is that Lamar's side of the stone does not include his date of death. A family member may want to contact the cemetery to see how to get the date added.

You're welcome! I created a page for his wife Shirley, would you like me to transfer it to you?

RE: Prev request
I guess I beat you to the said there are 11 graves....there certainly were not that many headstones...maybe Richard just didn't have one. ??? I uploaded F. Stenton as his marker was similar in style to the others. I assumed they were connected. It is possible the stones got buried over time, too. I uncovered a full size marker which would have been a foot tall completely covered yesterday. So, you never really know until you start digging. :)

Hi, I got the photo you requested for Donald Walker at Hollywood Forest Lawn. If you'd like to make a memorial on Find A Grave for his wife, Louise, I'll be happy to add the photo to it. Thanks! -Carolyn
