I am helping my friend try to find out about her great grandmother, whose name was Anna Chitwood. The family lore says she was born in Whitley Co, KY about 1865-1870, then married Alexander Shepherd and had 3 children Maude, Wolford, and Myrtle. The three children show up in the 1900 census with their grandfather C.W. Shepherd with their parents no where to be found.
I was just wondering in your searches have you run across a Chitwood that marries Alexander Shepherd. I am beginning to think she was probably born across the border in Scott Co, TN instead.
Thanks for listening :) God Bless, Chris

I added Jessie's death record to his memorial and it states that he died in Essex and was to be buried in East Cemetery in Williston... His death record was recorded in Essex, not Williston. It is very possible he has no marker.. His parents were quite poor.

Rick - Would you be so kind as to transfer management of my Great-grandmother's memorial to me? I want to post her real name (as opposed to the nickname that is on the memorial and on her gravestone) and put some more information on the memorial site.
Thank you. I really appreciate it.

Sam Chitwood was my almost grandpa. He was married to my grandmother Stella Ball. But he drowned in 1909 with my uncle. So Stella married my grandpa.
Do you have any other information about him? Any pictures with his wife (my grandma?) It would really be amazing to know more thank you.

|Robert Ash||Missionary Methodist Cemetery|
The cemetery on the border of Orange City and Debary of Shady Lane/Alice Dr.
The national geological survey lists the cemetery as a Missionary Baptist Church. Records of the Padgetts who are burried there call it "Midway" cemetery and some family members claim it as a private family cemetery for the Padgetts. However, I came accross a record in Deland that said there are 62 interments (no names or evidence), much more than the remaining 18 or so and a bit big for a "private family cemetery". Especially considering they did not own the land at the time of the earliest burials and may not have ever owned it as their property was about a mile south. I was curious where you found the "name" of the cemetery as Missionary Methodist.
I am trying to piece together some local history and would greatly appreciate any info you have on the cemetery itself. The biggest twist is that Missionary Baptist is almost exclusively an African American denomination and Missionary Methodist I believe is closely related to the Methodist-Episcopal that makes up the AME (African-Meth-Episc) churches today. Therefore, two of the possible names of the cemetery point to it being an African American cemetery but the only headstones are the Padgetts and Emanuels, white settlers in the area, with some members of the Padgett family referring to it as their private family cemetery.

I just did pictures of both Robbins and Brickyard/Baptist Memorial Cemeteries and while looking at the home page for Robbins I noticed that you had at least 2 pictures up that are of the Brickyard/Baptist Cemetery not the Robbins one.
I thought I would let you know since it can be confusing to people posting because it is the wrong cemetery and they are so close together.

|Susan Damen Meador||photo's|
I added 2 pictures to Maude Bunch Chitwood's page. She is my great grandmother. I am researching our family tree & putting everything together. I was hoping to get a copy of the Chitwood Book that I have heard about, do you know who Gary Chitwood is? A cousin of mine, told me he is the one with the book.
I would love to be able to get some pictures of our different family headstone's. If you have any that you would be able to email me, I would love to chat w/you & see what you have.
Have a great day!
