Thank you for taking the time to set up your memorials. It's awesome when tracking family to come across these memorials. Sometimes just seeing the headstone (with dates) can clear up a few mysteries.

On his memorial site, you show is birthdate as June 26, 1862. However; on his death cert, if shows Jan 3, 1862. Do you know where you got the June date?

Hi, memorial is for Mary Thelma Bright. You have a picture of James H. and Annie Bright's headstone. I don't have Mary Thelma being a child of theirs. So, how are they related. Thank you very much.

RE: Ida Crider Winn
My family was one of the many who moved from Kentucky to the Detroit area in search of work. My mother grew up in the Finis Lowry home (on HWY 902 near the Cemetery) as she was a daughter of Annie Lowry, Finis' daughter. After my grandfather, James B Farmer, died, Annie lived with my aunt Ina Doris, her eldest daughter. They lived on Hwy 902 near the church. My aunt use to play the organ at the church, in the 50's. I loved the area. I thought it was utopia compared to the suburbs of Detroit! I never saw a way to make a living there or I would have moved there.

My dad was raised in the Shady Grove area in Crittenden county. By the time we were going back to visit, most of his kin had left the area, so we didn't spend much time there.

I haven't visited the area in about 15 years. I want to get back to see it now, refresh some wonderful old memories, and do some research at some of the area court houses. I have found some of the Lowrys changed the spelling to Lowery and assume it may have been because they were illiterate and whoever filled out some of their paperwork for them may not have realized how their name was spelled. The vast majority of my kin left out the e.

Thanks for all the work you have done in the area.

RE: Ida Crider Winn

"Donaldson is not on the list of towns, but Farmersville is and Donaldson is Farmersville.
Donaldson is the name of the church located in Farmersville."

The whole Lowry side and a lot of the Farmer side of my family are from that area and when I first started genealogy searches I was surprised to find they were from the Donaldson area. So I looked into it. The Donaldson being referred to is a census district situated on a branch of Donaldson Creek. It technically is Magisterial District #2 in Caldwell County but is consistently referenced to in census reports as Donaldson. It is actually closer to Creswell than Farmersville.

Here is just one of many references in census reports that show what I am referring to. This is the 1900 census for Jasper Crider and daughter Ida M. and others. Even more interestingly, to me, the census taker was my great uncle David Lowry who lived there, note his name at the top of the page.

As an interesting aside, here is a hunting outfitter located in the same area:

If you look on a map it is in the same area as the census district and goes by the name Donaldson Creek.

I know Find a Grave does not list Donaldson as a town, I don't think it ever was one. I use Creswell as the nearest town when recording a grave for the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in that same area. When my aunt Ina Farmer Doris was there the Creswell store was right there by the Baptist church within walking distance of their farm and their farm was not far from the cemetery. My great grandfather Finis Lowry donated the cemetery land which was originally part of his farm and the census reports for him and many of his offspring, including my grandmother, all list their residences as Donaldson.

Thanks for your help. I appreciate all of your work.

Nabb Cemetery
Hey Gail, I saw that you added the first person to Nabb Cemetery. Could you provide directions from say the center of town? Maybe the triangle/stop light there at the dealership/taco johns? I really love to see directions on the cemetery so that I can find them easier (I know there's a map). Sometimes I can be directionally challenged, and this map doesn't show a cemetery when you view it. Do you know how large it is? I plan on going there soon.

Thanks a million
