Carter miles connection
I guessed that somehow you were related to the Miles but how? I suspected Dickinson-Carter- Miles connection as the Miles farm shows up in an old map of T4R6 Randolph Co. Ill. I suspect since no farm is labeled Dickinson that they were farm laborers close by, or possibly even working for Miles. Still haven't found the boat that Thomas and Rebecca Carter along with Creasey Dickinson came over on sometime prior to Creasey's death in Aug. 1856. Carters originally settled in rockland,Sullivan Co. N.Y. Will try to correspond in some other way -public computer will not send embedded email.

Clark Family
Kerry,
Are you related to the Shubel Clark family at Pioneer Cemetery in Hopewell, NY? I am looking for a James B. Clark who i am hoping is a son. James' daughter Polina is in our line, but I have not been able to match James with any of the Clark's in Ontario County.

Thanks,
Dave

Samuel Jones
Could you make a memorial for Samuel and link him to Harriett, and I will add a picture of the headstone to his memorial.

Contact
Yes I would contact the person who set up the memorial. Just click the edit button on her memorial and type your message and findagrave will send the message with the memorial number to them. Maybe you can ask for a transfer of her memorial to you.

RE: Harriett Jones
You're welcome. You haven't caused any trouble, I have been going to Lake cemetery anyway to take care of photo requests. I looked on findagrave to see if there were any cemeteries named Barton, there was one named Barton City cemetery. There are 8 photo requests there, so I'm going there to check it out today. I will get back with you and tell you if I had any luck with finding Samuel's or Harriett's stone there. I'm also going to Lake cemetery and will check all the Jones plots.

Harriett Jones
I Just wanted to let you now that i've been back to Lake cemetery to look for Harriett and still didn't find her. I have also looked in a book in the Webb City library that was made in 1984 by someone who had transcribed headstones in several cemeteries in Barton County, Missouri, Lake cemetery being one. I didn't find a transcription listed for Harriett Jones. The only other thing I can think of is if you would happen to know where her husband is buried, he isn't listed in the Lake cemetery register either, or if they have children buried there. I've not had a problem with someone not being listed in the register and still being buried there, the only problem I've had is the register listing someone by themselves in one plot but they're buried with family in a totally different plot.

Harriett Jones
I just wanted to tell you that I did'nt find Harriett's headstone. I looked at the register at Lake cemetery and there is'nt a Harriett listed in it. I did find a person who was close to her age when she died and that person died of old age, as listed on Harriett's death certificate, but as I said there was no headstone. When I get a chance to go back to Lamar I will look again.

Jenks Wheeler
Okay. Jenks Wheeler was born in 1788, probably in Rhode Island or Vermont. The family was moving around quite a bit then, so I am not sure which of the states he was born in, but a brother, just a little older than he was, was born in Rhode Island, and then a sister, just a little bit younger than he was, was born in Vermont.

Steuben County, NY, has very good records for Wills, etc.

Wheeler people
Kerry - Are you related to the Wheeler people?
Jenks was from Steuben County, New York, but I will have check to see where he was born. He went to Pennsylvania before moving to Illinois.

If you need info abt his family history, let me know. I descend from common Wheeler ancestors.

Most of Jenks's family members are buried up in Steuben County, New York. His parents were Jeremiah Wheeler and Mary (Joslyn) Wheeler.
