RE: Sgt George Burton Zurner
Hi Heather,
I am no relation to your great Uncle. I live in England & the night before we left on holiday to Normandy, I noticed a photo request on here for his Headstone. I was not a member of Find a Grave then but thought I would take the photo and join when I returned. Unforseen circumstances on my return prevented this until now by which time someone else had fulfilled the request and the requester's details had gone. As you maintain his Memorial page I assumed that it was you that had requested it hence my message to you. Glad you liked the photo. The cemetery there is beautiful and I hope that one day you get to visit. It was a privilege to pay my respects to your relative.
Kind regards
Carol (Woose)

Hi Heather,
I was in Normandy last year on the 3rd July and visited your relative's grave. I believe there was a photo request on it.Unforseen circumstances on my return to England meant that I am only now able to sort my photos out.I have added one of the photos I took to one of the pages. I hope you don't mind.
kind regards
Carol (Woose)

Verla Price Photo Request
Hi - you claimed a photo request for Verla Price. However the memorial creator accidentally put the memorial in a duplicate cemetery "Greenwood Cemetery" when it should actually be in "Greenwood Memorial Park" So I reported the mistake to the memorial creator and photo requester, then I deleted the photo request. They need to move the memorial and then submit another request.

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner but I was on vacation and just got home and have been so busy putting things back in order (sorta). Anyways, I did take the photo at the request of someone else but you are more than welcome to use the photo. I suggest you write something like edit findagrave (see instructions) and ask if they will transfer the memorial to you. I had someone that would not update info so I wrote them and they ended up transferring them to me. It did take about 4-6 weeks for this to happen though. Have a Merry Christmas!!!! Barb

RE: Taylor
Silly goose! I didn't mean for you to do the work. But REALLY appreciate you taking the time to go and look for me. I moved my Taylors to burial unknown and haven't entered ones for Gene and Nellie Taylor. I may end up getting death certificates from the recorders office. Wasn't it HOT out there?

Yeah - it's amazing that the city of San Diego took that cemetery and turned it into a park. In all there were some 1,800 people buried at the Cavalry Cemetery, but it gradually fell into disuse and disrepair after another Catholic cemetery was constructed. Eventually the decision was made to take most of the headstones to a ravine at the municipal Mount Hope Cemetery. You can still see them if you know where to look. I guess the city thought it would be ok if they made sure they got a photo of the stones first before they dumped them.

RE: Taylor
Yeah - it is sad. I visited a cemetery in Savannah, GA where the city just paved the road right on top of the graves, knowing they were there. Sometimes I just don't get it... And I don't get not having a marker, which might be the case for my Taylors. I'm also looking for their son Gene and his wife Nellie. I wonder if I should call the office?

RE: Coburn Mt Hope
Wow - Sounds like you've been really busy! I am looking for Fred Arthur Taylor 1897-1972 and his wife Blanche Bennett Taylor 1901-1963. Not sure if they have markers, I haven't confirmed anything with the office. Have you ever been to the office? The old guy in there is a riot. =] He has a story for every grave in the cemetery and tried to tell me all of them when I went to get a photo for my aunt and uncle. If you come across the Taylors it would sure save me some work. =]

Thank you for taking the photograph of my late step-father's gravestone.
Good luck with your quest to document a cemetery, I am finishing a similar project on Kerr Cemetery, in Symmes Township, Hamilton Co, Ohio.

It's even sadder when you're the first one in the family to pass and you still don't get a marker. Maybe if they weren't so gosh darned expensive!

RE: Virgil McComas
There's no stone for Virgil so I've removed the request. I have a photo if they want me to upload of the space where his marker should be if they want it.

Hi- Don't want you to make a trip if it's not necessary. Virgil is actually buried with his step father Frank Jenkins, and I'm heading to Mt Hope right now. I'll post this photo if there's a stone for him. =]
