RE: The West , Birds are my Family.
Yes,I would love to share info with you. Our connection is via Callie Emily Hyatt-West (my great grandmother's sister). My Great grandmother is Rhoda Ann "Annie" Hyatt who married Steve S Shelton (my great grandfather).

My grandmother Myrtis Emma West-Shelton (daughter of Steve S Shelton and Rhoda Ann Hyatt) was also a WEST. However, I have not been able to make any connection to her WEST line and William West line (doesn't mean they are not connected though). I have found no proof since I am stuck on JAMES H WEST in Greene County, AL (cannot find out how his parents were and cannot find out what happened to him since 1850 Alabama census).

I'll be glad to invite you to my ancestry family tree where you are more than welcome to merge or copy any of the pics I have on the HYATT, WEST line. Just send me your ancenstry userid and I I will invite you to my most current tree.

Mrs Billy Harden
RE: 15538626
Billy Harden is 81 years old. He grew up in Gillett, Tx, and after completing barbar school in Austin, Tx., he became a barber in Corpus Christi, Tx for 54 years. He is still very active and does all our driving. He very much loves his siblings and we visit them often. There are four girls and three boys surviving out of the 15 children. They get together once a year for a reunion. Our next reunion is scheduled for next June 2015. I'm not sure where they will meet at this time.

Hello Elaine, I am so excited to get in touch with you. I am the one who is interested in the Rhodes family history. I think the first three children born to John and Louisa were born in Goliad County. What I am following at present on Ancestry.Com is that John Hiram's dad was maybe James B. Rhodes, born in 1832 in Tennessee and died in 1863 during the Civil War leaving his wife, Martha E. Sessions Rhodes (born 1832 in Alabama and died in 1900 in Guadalupe County, Tx) and two children: John Hiram Rhodes, born Sept 1858 in Mississippi and died in Gonzales County, Tx, sometime between 1910 & 1917. and his sister, Seletar J. Rhodes, 1860 - 1910. The last census I find with his name is in 1910. Louisa Matilda Stiles Rhodes was born Dec. 8, 1866, in Goliad County, Tx and died Mar 24, 1917, in Leesville, Gonzales, Tx. Her death certificate says she was a widow. John Hiram and Louisa were married Apr 18, 1880. The rest of their children were born around Leesville, Gonzales County, Tx. Clate S. & Hattie L. Harden lived in the Leesville area until after their last child was born on Dec 12, 1939. They Moved to Gillett, Karnes County,Tx. My husband was the 12th child and was six years old when they moved from Leesville. I would like to know what Mack's given name was. I look forward to staying in touch with you on this very interesting journey. Thank you so much for your reponse.

My mother-in-law was Hattie Louisa (Rhoades) Harden, who was a sister of Mack Rhoades. I would love to get in contact with you since I am doing some genealogy research on the Rhodes (Rhoades) family. I am also looking for Mack and Hattie's parents' burial sites. It looks like their parents were John Hiram and Louisa Matilda (Stiles)Rhodes, who lived in Gonzales County, Texas.
There is also a John Hiram Rhoades listed as living in Lavaca County, Tx. However, we received a note from one of his relatives that this John Hiram Rhoades lived with his parents until he was 43 years old, when he married a Nancy Eleanor Deborah. He did not have children.
Please let me hear from you at
