RE:Transfer of memorial for Gladys Chubbuck # 51799359
Thank you, Carol for the transfer!

I appreciate the offer to remove the photos which you took, but I would like you to leave them. It's a reminder of your efforts. It's also a tribute to the hard work which J.R. Reagan and his construction crew at the San Francisco National Cemetery are doing to preserve the memorial headstones of those who served and put their lives on the line.

Thanks again.

RE: Originally buried at Ft. Klamath, Oregon
Hi Carol,

I like what you did! Great idea. Yes, please use it for the rest of the memorials.

Someone else created memorials for all of the names at Ft Klamath that are listed on the memorial. Do you mind if I add your photo to those or would you prefer to do it? Let me know if you have a preference one way or another.

Too bad you were asked to remove the pictures/info you post for the other memorial. It was a great idea and I'm sure family would have appreciated it.

Thanks for all of your help.

Ok - keep me posted. I was thinking maybe I can create one record in the Klamath cemetery and then add a note to the ones in CA to visit that memorial to see pictures of the original burial site.

Hi Carol,

Thanks for the information and I understand your concern. I will go back tonight and delete the pictures I added. I just thought that some family member may come along and find a long lost relative and like to see where their family member was originally interred here in Oregon.

RE: Dodie Rosenbaum # 3540590
Hi Carol--I wonder if Dodie was a nickname for Otho? You are right that his father was Otho. Anyway, I will check the dates on the stone.
I have been horrified at all the errors I have found in this little cemetery, starting with my own great-grandparents! In comparing the markers with the paperwork there are tons of misspellings, reversal of first and last names and some that make no sense at all. It's plenty to keep me busy and out of trouble! Thanks so much for your help! Laura

Hi, Carol,
Thank you very much for taking and posting the photo of the tombstone of my great grandfather.

I would like to ask for your permission to post that photo in my family tree on Because the photographer has a copyright for each photograph, I always ask before using a photo on another web site. My request would also extend to any other of your photographs that I might find in the future that are of my ancestors. I will give your name (Carol) as the photographer and the web address of the memorial as the source.

Many thanks for all that you have done on findagrave.

Sorry Carol, I mis-read your edit request for his memorial and I made the change for the birth year. Guess it's just been one long day lol.

RE: Photo permission
Thank you very much! No need to transfer, we are quite distantly related, and there may be others who are closer family than we are, but thanks for offering. Regards, Gwen

Photo permission
Hello Carol,
May I please have permission to use your photo of the gravestone of Hazen S Dearborn, San Francisco National Cemetery on my family tree, with attribution to you and Find a Grave? (His name is actually Hazen, not Hagen, as listed on the U.S. National Cemetery Interment Control Forms.) Thank you very much for your consideration. Gwen

Hi Carol, we communicated about getting photos at SF National at the Presidio back in December but you said the section was being renovated. I have one other photo there I'd like to ask for also. Do you think the place is ready for photographs? Thanks.

Eckardt family
I just found an entry for an Eckardt in San Fran from you. Have been trying to track down info on a Henry Eckardt from Ohio who I think may have moved to San Fran in the 1860-70s. Son of Johann and Barbara Bauer Eckardt. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks! Ekardt

Well, thanks for letting me know about this. I thought it odd he didn't already have a memorial page! Turns out I misspelled his surname. You are very astute to catch my error and thanks for letting me know.

I may have already sent this request and you may have replied, but I can't find any record of it. I am researching all the Spanish American War soldiers of Floyd Co., IN. When I am finished, I will be sharing the info with the local library and the web site of the Sons of Spanish Ameican War Veterans. May I please have permission to use your photo of Justus Wheate? I will be sure to give you credit. Thank you, Douser.
