Robert STEELE 1828
Hi from New Zealand.

I have just found the memorial you have listed for Robert STEELE 1828 with parents Robert and Bertha STEELE, nee WADDELL.

Robert appears to be an older brother to my gt gt grandfather Matthew STEEL/E who came out to New Zealand via Australia in the 1860's.

I would love to swap notes with any living descendants of Robert in Canada.

Perhaps you can help?

Many thanks

John Gerrie & Christa Tough/Touch
Hi Achisha, Thank you for all of the work you have done here.
I was collecting records for the above 2 people, and noticed that in the bio for John Gerrie, (memorial # 125873835) his first wife Christa is shown with the surname of Tough; but on her actual memorial (52087772) it's shown as Touch.
I'm wondering if you'd be able to clarify which it is.
Thank You.

Achisha,

You are a treasure, my friend!!

Thank you for the research you did and for letting me know. I took the birth records you added as gospel. :) After all, the parents should know what the child's name is and how they want to spell it.

Thank you, again! Have a great Sunday - tomorrow it's back to work!!

Warm regards,
judy aka High Plains :)

Thank you, again, Achisha.

These links were all from edits sent to me. I usually only check to see if it is possible by date of birth of parents and date of birth of child. Most days I get over 75 edits linking husbands, parents, etc. for memorials about which I have no knowledge other than what I have already put on the memorials. I so wish people would check their facts before shooting off an edit.

Best wishes,
judy :)

Thank you for the correct parents - the joys of having edits come in!! (Not yours - the links for parents, etc. were send in by another Find A Grave member)

Joan Marie McIntee
Hi, Achisa I have been researching the Lockhart family since 2010 and I noticed that you have listed under Joan Marie that her maiden name was Lockhart. It is actually was Darroch. Her mother Irene May Darroch was a Lockhart.
Just thought you may want to know for accuracy. Thank you very much for posting this memorial.

Hi, Achisa,
Thank you SO very much for taking the photo of the grave stone of Alexander Eddie. I appreciate it so very much. Thank you for adding it to James' memorial as well.
It was so kind of you, and I thank you for your volunteer work!
All the best,

Transferring management
Hello Achisha, I am handing the O'Neil family at St John's RC, Arthur, over to you. My computer is acting up lately and won't make the links as you requested. Thanks for all of your wonderful work!

Ellen McManus Scanlan
Hello Achisha,
I have included the Baptism record from familysearch on Ellen's memorial page. I do see your point about the census records for the actual date of birth. Also, there is a possibility that this is a baptism record for "the first" Ellen Mcmanus who passed away, then Thomas & Margaret named their second daughter Ellen again (after her grandmother). Ellen's brother James also has a large difference in his baptism record & census records and the carving in his grave marker. Handle the discrepancy however you wish.
However, Ellen must have been born in Durham County, Ontario, because Thomas & Margaret McManus lived in Durham County before following Margaret's family (the Gainer's) to Wellington County about 1861 (this is the family story and is supported by three of their children's baptism records).
I wish I could find the actual gravestone for Ellen McManus Scanlan, but haven't after 4 visits.
And, as always, thank you for all of your hard work on the ancestors of Wellington County!

Thank you sincerely for your work. Hulda was a mystery in my tree for years. With a clue that her daughter lived in Canada I was finally able to locate her. Very sad end for her but at least she has been found.

Hello Achisha,
I was wondering if you would like to have my St Antony Cemetery memorials transfered over to you? I managed to photograph and post most of them, and I do enjoy reading your work with those Wellington County settlers.

Hi Achisha,

Have transferred their memorials to you.

There was a photo which was pretty much unreadable but knowing her name, now I can make out the name of Mina Gooding, wife of George.

Achisha,

Thank you SO much! No wonder it was confusing seeing as how he shaved a number of years off his age AND was married so many times.

Is he related to you? If you would like to manage his memorial I would transfer.

Best wishes,
High Plains :)

Elsie Triezenberg
I continually am fascinated by the biographies listed on Find A Grave. I was mesmerized by the life of Elsie Triezenberg in Kalamazoo, Michigan. I photograph markers in Riverside Cemetery regularly and many times get caught up in the life of those buried there. I found documentation for Elsie and her husband Harm in the Kalamazoo Gazette and am going there to read more about them. Are you interested in what I find?

Julia Milton
Violet Martin
Hello Achisha,
First of all I would like to thank you for your kindness in recording the graves at Greenwood Cemetery, Arthur.
I'm writing to ask whether I might take over the memorial for Violet (nee Bender) Martin. She was my second cousin and was a very dear lady. I would be honoured to be able to update her FindAGrave listing with more details of her life. She was a very dear lady who made her 103 years meaningful by working for those less fortunate for herself.
Admittedly I'm not a near relative in kinship terms, but my late mother Hazel McCoy was her first cousin and the two of them were very close. Violet herself had no children.
In the meantime I've added a photo of Violet and have paid to have the ads removed from her listing.
If it isn't possible/appropriate to do this, may I request that you update her listing with the details of her obituary, which may be found here:
http://www.obitsforlife.com/obituary/1007616/Martin-Violet.php
Many thanks!
