RE: Vera Mai Dick Buchanan
You are quite welcome. Just got Orville today, missed him the first time because I miscounted (and misread) the number. Saw Vera's new marker the other day and took it then - sorry you had to wait. cb

RE: rebecca cook
You're quite welcome.
I'm quite certain the larger grave says D.W. The condition of the stone prevents reading any more, but there appears to at least be a last initial after. Perhaps this is another family member, rather than her husband. They are approximately a foot apart, whereas most of the graves in this tiny graveyard are spaced further apart; therefore I assumed they are connected somehow. As for the smaller stone, I am nearly positive that this is connected to DW- they are only about two inches apart. I wish I could say for certain that the "C" on JWC stood for Cook, but I cannot.
Happy hunting!

Re: Husband and poss. child of Rebecca Cook
I went to the Mount Eden Christian Church cemetary, and found Rebecca's grave. Next to it, there was another grave, older than hers, and the only part of the inscription still readable is "D.W." I don't know if this would help you. Also, on the other side of D.W., there is a smaller marker, approx 1 1/2 feet tall, which reads "J.W.C." Perhaps this was a child of theirs.
I do have photos available of the stones for both DW and JWC if you'd like them, however I hesitated to add them to Rebecca's memorial. This is my first fulfillment request, and was unsure of the protocol re cases like this.
If you would like them, you may email me at
God Bless.

George W. Seaton
Hi Elizabeth, I took the photo of George Seaton's headstone. I found him at the Cades Cove Methodist Church Cem. not at the Cades Cove Primitive Baptist Church Cem. They are clos to one another so that may explain the confusion as to which cemetery he is buried at.

Elizabeth, I retook the photos today of Lavina's gravesite. It has one of the most beautiful scenes on it. Something I have never seen. Nathaniel does not have a stone.

RE: Kimbrow Landers
Hi Elizabeth,

I have not found a grave for Martha "Patsey". She was living with Harrison in 1870. I do have a lot of information on the Collett family if you are descended from Patsey. They have some well known ancestors in England and Wales that have been well researched if you are interested in them e-mail me at I also have a lot of information on Kimbrow.
