Hello
I have claimed your photo request for Julian Broersma. I will photo and post tomorrow.
I wanted you to know that I also located another Broersma at the same cemetery, and have transferred ownership of that memorial to you. No need to request a photo though, as I will also photo and post to that marker tomorrow.
Just wanted you to know.
Thanks :-)

On Hendrick Dengerink's memorial (25593642) you have noted "s/w Willemken Dengerink". What does s/w mean? Who is Willemken & is he related to Hendrick? If yes, how? Thanks.

Hello -
I claimed your photo request for Etje and am sorry to report there is no headstone or marker for her. I will mark the request as necessary and add a "flower" stating there is no headstone. By a sheer chance - do you happen to have any photos of her brother Pieter / his family?? I believe they are buried in the Netherlands - Friesland. Thanks! Megan

that is rather odd since I have documentation. Is there possibly another cemetery with similar name around Marysville and/or the other city? Martha

other names in the plot
The other names in the Bates plot are a Frank C Jr, Mertie Bates Loomis married to a Chester K Loomis but his grave isn't there. Elmer Bates 1887-1943 and his wife Florence E Turner Bates 1885-1986 she was a 101 when she died, Frank Clifford Bates 1923-1972, Marlene Bates(married name maybe Frank Clifford Bates wife they were both in the military during WWII and possibly their son Philip Clifford Bates 1959-1972 also in the military and there is also an infants grave with the name Tewksbury but I'm not sure if that's where the infant was born or a name. I have to retake the photo because I can't find it.

Seth Reed Bates mother
Hi Luke

I don't believe that Seth R Bates mother is Catherine Stayner. I believe his mother is Rebecca C Bates. Not sure what her maiden name is. According to the 1900 census Frank C Bates was married to a Rebecca C ?? Either that or Catherine went by the name Rebecca. They both have the same year of birth 1868. They had 3 boys and 3 girls. Their names were Elmer 1887, Mertie (female) 1889, Seth 1891 but the census has him listed as 1881 but 8 years old in 1900 so I'm thinking someone made a mistake on that one :), Irene 1893 and Frank Jr 1899. I don't want to add links that might not be correct so I'll do a bit more research before I add them in. I'll also see if I can make sure that Rebecca and Catherine are one and the same.. I think they are .. I'll let you know

I'm new to this and not sure how to do that. I am pretty sure they are Seth's children. I will double check with census for that time frame.

RE: Mary E Morey Picture
The ground is now frozen so it will be a problem to try and get a better picture before spring. There is no question that she was born in 1877. It is harder to tell when she died. It looks like 1888 to me. I assume the other site you are talking about is Iowa Gravestones. I took the photo there.
