|FRRoss||Edits for year of birth|
I have added some edits to include the year of birth to several of you memorials for the "Backer" ground in Saugerties Twp, Ulster, NY. I do this because Ancestry.com uses F.A.G.com listing as resources, and their searches look for an approximate "Year of Birth" as a primary search criteria. So if you allow my edits, you will be greatly assisting the geaneaology community.

Hello Ruth, I submitted an edit to add her month and year of death. The source was a burial notice that appeared in the Catskill Recorder Newspaper 12/19/1913. I added a copy of the notice to her memorial. Paul Turner, Karker Family Descendant.

|Ada Green||RE: Dr. Lester Sonking obituary|
Thank you for changing his place of death to Kingston. I agee with you that obits sometimes contain wrong info, but the place of death that is listed in the local newspaper is more likely to be correct than the birth that occurred many years earlier. I don't blame you for leaving his place of birth blank. I did some further checking on ancestry.com. He apparently took vacation cruises to Nassau, Bahamas in 1949 and Bermuda in 1955 where upon reentering the USA his passenger ship record says his place of birth was New York, NY. However, a 1954 passenger ship record says he was born in "Russia". But the clincher is that there is an earlier Petition of Naturalization for him (dated July 1927) that indicates that he was born in "Russia". Thanks for rejecting my original correction because apparently he was born somewhere in "Russia", which could have been anywhere in the early 20th century czarist empire. His original surname was Sasonkin.

Please note place of death is listed as Kingston, NY which is the source of my findagrave edit for him.

Why did you reject my edits for Dr. Lester Sonking buried in Montrepose Cemetery, Kingston, NY.? The information that I provided on his place of birth and death comes from his newspaper obituary.

O.K., I accepted Phillip's name change. As long as you are certain Phillip is related, and the name was misspelled on the stone. I was not aware you were related. So I'm sure you know more yhan me about the family. Good luck

I see you have not accepted this edit request. Can you please look carefully at the photo I posted. If you enlarge it as much as possible, you can see there are two ts in the last name. I made sure before I sent the request. It would match up with the son, Phillip Mattees

Thank you so much. I have visited their graves a few years ago and took pics of many of the graves in Medway Hill Cemetery and Wilbur Cemetery. I have them on a disc if anyone is interested in one I will send it.

I was looking at Henry and Abigail Tompkins. Their children were listed but one was not there. My Great Grandmother. They also had a girl Susan Caroline born in 1848. Her death was 19 August 1889. She married my Great Grandfather Robert. Their son William was my Grandfather. My Mother's Dad. They are buried in the Medway Hill Cemetery in New Baltimore, NY

Thank you so much, everything looks correct now, I see you made a new memorial for John H. b.1828. He was the son of John (b.1801 and Anna Maria (Allen) Grassfield, if that helps you. Thanks for the transfer offer, but they are not my direct line, but they are all related to each other. Thanks again for your quick help in this matter.

In regard to the memorial #35857723, for Charles Henry Grassfield (1849-1850)His memorial has been attached to the wrong Father's memorial here on Find A Grave that you are editor of. His Father was John H. Grassfield, who was born in 1828, and was married to Lucinda Lasher. My GGgrandfather was also named John Henry Grassfield, (memorial #145037535) and he was born in 1821, and was married to Mary A. Raymond, was the son of David, and Sally (Orcutt)Grassfield. These two John's were Cousins. I am requesting if would, Edit the Father's info for Charles Henry, as he's showing up as a child on my GGgrandfather's memorial page. You made need to create a new memorial page for him, John b.1828. Thank you

|luddy||Re: George Pierce|
Thanks for searching for George Pierce's burial site.
George Pierce was struck by a vehicle on Jan. 8th of 1948 and died later that day at Bathgate Hospital, Stamford. He was 81 yrs. of age, born at Blenheim Hill and lived in Grand Gorge.
Funeral services were from Hall Funeral Home, and his body was placed in the Stamford Cemetery vault for burial at Tannersville later.
I got this info from the front page of The Otsego Farmer of Friday, Jan. 9th, 1948. I hope it leads to his interment site. Thanks again,

Do you know if there's a George Pierce intered in Evergreen Cemetery at Tannersville?
I have the info about him for a memorial, and I know he was buried in Tannersville, but not the name of the cemetery.
Any info greatly appreciated. Thanks,

Ichabod of CT > one of his sons Seldin Spencer of Ulster Cty NY > one of his six sons Alvin D. Spencer of same > one of Alvin's three sons James C. Spencer of same > one of his four sons James D. Spencer of same > his only known son James Lewis Spencer b. 1911. Just found a son by Lewis b. 16 Apr 1940 "James Alyca Spencer" !!

Hi Ruth .... which "james Spencer" do you need ? or both ? There was the father James C. Spencer died 1938 - wife was Sarah a/k/a Phebe .... AND his son James D. Spencer born 1883 buried I don't know where - wife was Anna Kemme. I found in some records that the latter James had his middle initial mis-stated as "C." Let me know.
