John Day
Hi,
My name is Lindel J. Day. I've been doing my family research for the Day family bloodline for almost a year now. I am currently at a dead end. I'm stuck at my great-great-grandfather John Day. Because I've tried almost everything else, I've resorted to emailing people I've come across while searching online who may possibly be related or know more information.
From what I've found online I think we could share an ancestor. If you could just even glance at my info and tell me what you think or know I would be so grateful.
Again, I am looking for information about a John Day. I don't know a lot about him, but here is what I'm almost certain of.

John Day
Born: Early-mid 1800's
Lived most of his life in Tennessee. Had family there, Kentucky and Missouri. His last wife (my great-great-grandmother) was Susie Halstead.
John Day died just before 1900.

His son (my great-grandfather) John Henry Day, I know almost everything about.

John Henry Day
Born: September 1,1870
in Tennessee (possibly Madison county)
Died: August 18,1936
New Madrid County, Missouri
Lived inTennesse: 1870-1901
(Relatives and records suggest possible TN areas of interest: Madison County, Obion County and Lake County)

Here is my bloodline.
John Day > John Henry Day > Henry Clayton Day > Lindel Joseph Day > Lindel Joseph Day Jr.
I was born and raised in St.Louis, Missouri and still reside here.

Thanks for taking the time to read this. Any comments, suggestions or possible links to help further my search would be extremely appreciative.

Sincerely,

Lindel (Joe) Day Jr.

I just added a memorial for your great aunt who is buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, Evansville. Her second husband, Joel Dustom Mills, is my second cousin, four times removed. I've been doing extensive research on the Mills family of SW Indiana. I've added a number of them to the Oak Hill Cemetery. She and Joel had at least two children together before his death in 1941. He was fifteen years older than Trulie. Let me know if you need any information on the Mills family.

Your Family
So nice of you to share the photo of your great-great-great grandparents! I have been fascinated with Hazelgreen Cemetery for years yet know very little about it, and even less about the history of the area and the people who are buried there. I take it they were mostly farming families who lived in the surrounding area.

Even more amazing is that you are so young yet dedicated to your family history. Would you be a history teacher by any chance?
