My hubby Galen has a direct line to the Tifft/Tefft family & Albert Duffield is also a cousin to my hubby. How do you fit in as a cousin? I have not worked on that line for a while and don't have you listed yet. Please e-mail me privately for further updating. Thank you for the very nice photo you posted. Please feel free to post any photos on any of my memorials. Thanks again Barb Rowe

George Peck and Headstone

Added by Glory on Jul 12, 2014 4:54 PM

I just want to take the time to thank you for all you have contributed the Town of Day Cemetery.

Its hard work and record searching is very difficult at times.

I see there is a monument now for the Cemetery...when we were visiting several years ago there was only a sign stating the Cemeteries name.

It has been a difficult journey finding just where George Peck's birth father died and is buried. His mother Susan remarried ? New York, Vermont or even Canada after Alvah/Alva Peck's death some time after 1876 when George was born, which was in Jay N.Y. .
Susan came to Wisconsin from Black Brook, Essex Co., NY…..but I am so confused as to if she came as a Peck or and Austin.

I mainly just want to thank you for all your gallant efforts for helping so many of us out. We are very blessed to have people like you that care
about our roots.

Gloria Peck
daughter in law of Elmer J Peck son of George J Peck. Elmer was like a father to me and loved him dearly and miss his every day.

Hi, I enjoyed reading her obit. Thank you for putting it on. I put a couple more pictures on of Cornwells in case you haven't seen them. One for Edward and his wife, I think. I just came across one for George and Matie, which I will add for you when I get a chance. Regards, Sheila

Hi Jackie,

I could not find a headstone for Orlo Moore. I found all the Moore Headstones and they did not belong to Orlo. I found his wife and childrens' headstone. But his name was not on it.

Frederick Bessey
That is a surprise. I am wondering if someone got the two Semanthas mixed up in their research as records say he is buried next to sister Semantha. Well, I am glad to have that set straight after so many years. I would really appreciate a scan of the obit for my Bessey records as there are a couple of my relatives who really need to see this. Surprising he is not listed in the Highland burials as it is a new cemetery (relatively speaking) but omissions do occur. Thank you for the information. I will send you the links. I am still working on info for the parents' sites but at least you can link them together.
Take care.

Frederick Bessey
Was wondering if you got my e-mail inquiring about Frederick's burial in Highland and where you found a record? The name is not recorded at the Marcellus Historical Society list for Highland and old family records have him buried around Onondaga Hill along with his sister who died the same day. I really would like to hear from you as I have his parents now on Findagrave and am linking the entire family together. Have worked on the Bessey line since the 1960's so it means a lot to me. Take care.
your friend. Sheila
