Wikipedia articles are placeholder bios that can be posted only by Find a Grave administrators. We sometimes place them when a quick bio is needed for a recently deceased person. You, or anyone else, are certainly free to write an original, comprehensive bio for General Haig (or any other memorial on the site) and submit it to any site administrator for review via email or the Find a Grave Forums.

Thank you,

Find a Grave administration

Maj. Gen. Robert McClure 1897-1957
Hi John,

I just talked to the causality office at Fort Huachuca 520-533-2229 and Maj. Gen. McClure was never buried on this post. Wish I could help you locate his true burial place. If you are pretty sure he died in this area I can go to the local newspaper and check out the issues on microfilm from around his date of death and see if I can find his obituary listed which usually has his place of internment!

I noticed you placed a flag at John memorial. By any chance did you know him. My wife is his wife's aunt Coletta. She passed away several years ago. I took over the family tree after my father passed. I found out about John through my wife. After seeing the mini series "Band of brothers" and reading the book by Stephen Ambrose I became very interested in John's action at Normandy. I only know he was in the glider units. I do not know what unit he was with or the approximate area of action when he was killed in Normandy. I have heard that the records kept in St Louis may have been destroyed by fire in the 1960s. I am hoping someone may remember him and contact me
Thanks for the flag

Miracle Mile Tim
Dunaway's Bio
I agree wholeheartedly that the bio I put together was inadequate. That is why the administrators probably turned him down for a famous designation. I knew he was an important military figure during the Vietnam War, but I frankly couldn't find much information on him from the usual sources (obits, Wikipedia, etc.)

Please feel free to write a more accurate and complete bio. Submit your bio in the "New Bio Post/Review" thread in the "Help With Find-A-Grave" section of the discussion forums. If the administrators accept your new and better bio, then they will replace the one that I have written. Perhaps then he can get designated as famous.
