Thomasine & Warren Woodson
The obit transcribed on Thomasine's memorial page states that her husband Warren Woodson died on 3 Jul 1924--the date you have listed for her death. On his page, you have dod as unknown. Could you make this correction please?
"Leavenworth Kansas Deaths 1840-1935" (online data base) lists Thomasine's dod as 23 Mar 1926.
Could you change her dod to agree with this database?
Thanks!

I was looking at the photos you have on this site. I took one today of the same stone and it is covered with a terrible brown growth of some type. I wondered if you had cleaned this stone before snapping it and if so, what did you use?

Thank you

RE: Memorial #15001054
I found my other info. It is from a compilation by Debra Graden, Leavenworth Historical Society. The index is "Leavenworth, KS Deaths, 1923-30". Death date is listed as 3 July 1924 so I'll correct my database. Does that agree? He is my great great grandfather also. So we are 3rd cousins. From which of his children do you descend?

OK, just dug out my family sheet whose info was taken from two sources - much older family sheets of my aunt and checked against the Morton book (a while ago). I have Warren William Woodson (child of Daniel and America Woodson) born 23 Dec 1853 in Lynchburg, VA, married to Thomasina Cook 27 Nov 1877 and died 7 May 1924. I have the obituary you have posted on findagrave but don't have it in my hands right now. What dates do you have that are different? I see both the birth and marriage dates posted there are the same as mine. But you don't hae a death date posted.

Well, it came out of my geneaology database but I have the obituaries too. I just moved and things are not as accessible as they should be! I'll try to find it. Maybe we are confusing father and son. One was William Warren and one was Warren William.

Tell me your descendancy. My home email is kansaswx@verizon.net.

Dave,

Oops, I mixed up my great grandfather with my great great grandfather. I gave you the dates for the son, William Warren. You posted for Warren William. But I don't see a death date on the post.

So, he is great great grandfather to both of us. My line is William Warren Woodson > Warren William Woodson > Marion Woodson Bacon > Ronald Bacon. What is your line?

My email is kansaswx@verizon.net if you want to compare notes. I thought we had corresponded before. I'm sort of remembering that you posted about Daniel Woodson (our great great great grandfather) and I asked if you were related or only providing info. I thought you said we weren't related. But maybe I'm imagining it. Anyway, will be glad to hear from another cousin. Where do you live? I grew up in Leavenworth but now live in Maryland.

Debi

Hi Dave,

You've added a grave for my great grandfather William Warren Woodson at Mt. Muncie in Leavenworth. Would you add his birth/death dates please: Born 14 Nov 1883, died 2 Aug 1940. Thanks, Debi Bacon

Helen MacDonald
Ophelia Offield Burr
Hello Dave,

I am a distant relative to you--well, perhaps not so distant. Ophelia (Offield) Fletcher/Burr, your grandmother, is my first cousin, once removed. My cousin, Dorothy Bloxom, has also written to you, her message just above mine on this site.

After all these years, Dorothy and I have finally received a photo of Laura Ellen (Tye) Offield/Page/Parton. She would be your great-grandmother. Would you like a copy? We also have a photo of Fern (Page) Sweat, half sister of Ophelia.

Now, all we are lacking is a photo of Ophelia. Dorothy has a picture of a young girl who could possibly be Ophelia. It was taken in Topeka, Kansas, where they family lived.

Dorothy Bloxom
Ophelia Mae Burr Mason
I have just found this person on Find A Grave and have a strong feeling that she would be my great aunt. My relative has the same birth date of Oct. 13, 1886. Her maiden name was Offield. She was married first to Herbert Fletcher. When her mother died the obit said she was married to W. H. Burr.
Her mother was Laura Ellen (Tye), Offield, Page, Parton.

Could this be the same Ophelia?

Please contact me if you think it coule be her.
