RE: Samuel Greenhoe
I've been working with the Pennsylvania death certificates and have uploaded memorials # 154350632, 154354583, 154358533, 154359161 and 154359383. I'm almost positive that 154354583 (Mary Catherine Greenhoe Aigler) is an unmarked grave. Her husband Jacob was related to me and I never could find her grave when I searched some years ago. I intend to check this again and if there is no marker I'll add that information to her memorial.

Seazholtz Obelisk
You're welcome. I am going through each section of Mt. Zion, photographing everything, so if there were recognizable (or even unrecognizable) stones, I would post them if I can in any way identify them as belonging to a neighbor's family. That said, I haven't yet seen Erbs or Gilmores in Section A1, but six rows remain.

I also have a partial burial register that does tell me that Wm H. Erb, 3 mos., was buried on April 15, 1912. He must be the child you mentioned. I did not see his stone. I will look again. On occasion, I miss an inscription on the back.

I have posted the larger view of the obelisk on George Abner Seazholtz memorial. I will take a different view of it so you can see the position of the footstones. They are not exactly "around" the obelisk, but in the two rows of the plot.

In the meantime, you may want to remove the cemetery photos from your memorials, so you have more room for photos. There wasn't room for footstones on some memorials. If you write me at my email address, I will send you the photos so you have them for your family tree.

I am about to post photos to your memorials for Jonathan and Sarah Seasholtz and their family. I know that Seasholtz is the common spelling for this surname, but I want to draw your attention to the spelling on the obelisk/stone: Seazholtz. I've included the "footstones" also because they're so attractive.

Ludwig Eichenhofer
Thanks so much for adding Ludwig's listing to Find A Grave! Ludwig was my great x4 grandfather.

Francis Xavier Eichenhofer, who was married to your great-great-grandmother's sister Josephine Merkert, was the nephew of my great-great-great-grandfather, Anton Magnus Eichenhofer.

You are correct that Ludwig was the patriarch of the Eichenhofer family, which hailed from the village of Beuren an der Aach, Germany, although he was not the first of the family to arrive -- that was Anton Magnus, who arrived in 1870. His siblings Nicodemus and Alexander (Francis Xavier's dad) arrived on April 26, 1872, and Ludwig came over a short time later with Nicodemus wife & children on Aug. 17, 1872.

Thanks again!

Murder hollow

I found you through researching the murders in 1851 in Roxborough. My family members currently live on one of the adjacent properties and I am looking for info on both the murders and the history of the surrounding houses.
I really appreciate the work you've done and would love a little more info of available. Do you know specifically which house belonged to the Bartels?

Thank you for your time,

RE: thank you...
The Duncan info came from the Cedar Hill database. I spend a lot of time there. Walking at least 3-4 times a week, taking photos, enjoying the parks.

Ella H Weir Rementer
I apologize for all the emails but I'm just very happy to connect our Weir's to their families. I uploaded Ella's DC which has James Weir and Sarah A Rex as her parents.

I also uploaded Laura Weir Lightkep's DC to her memorial which also has James and Sarah as her parents. Cate has added Laura's parents to her memorial.

I also created a memorial for John H Weir, James and Sarah's son.

I also found Mary E Weir Mooney's DC. She is in Westminster Cemetary.

Sallie McElhaney
I uploaded a marriage doc for Sallie, husband Lewis. What is interesting is her last name is Weir. What I'm finding when searching for Sarah Weir which shows Sarah McElhaney in the 1880 census living with her father James Weir, was this Sallie Weir In church documents with Archibald, Mary E. Weir which are Sarah's siblings. Could Sarah and Sallie both born 1850 be the same person? I did find a document which is addressing Lewis McElhaney's burial has Sarah McElhaney on it year 1894. I don't know if you came across these documents but if you would like I can email them to you.

I was glad to help. I just sent you links to Annie's parents. Unfortunately I was not able to find any record of Jacob and Anna (Kline) Greenhoe's burials.

RE: thanks and a question
The information I have re: Mary W Staley is from her PA Certificate of Death #73927. I don't usually post death certificates to memorials. If you want a copy, I'll send it to you, and you can post it.

You might be having trouble finding Mary's death certificate because she died in Plymouth Township in Montgomery County, not in Luzerne County. Apparently automatically links Plymouth Township to Luzerne County, even though Montgomery County is clearly on the death certificate. I've seen this numerous times and have informed Ancestry about this error. Plymouth Township is about 2 miles from St. Peter's/Barren Hill Cemetery.

RE: NY Passenger list for James Weir & family
I agree that this may not be our Weirs. Also, looking further I believe all the wives on this list look to be noted as Mrs. I'll search out the Philadelphia passenger lists. I'm also on, I did the DNA testing and I'm going to have my Brother contribute his DNA as well. I plan on contributing his DNA ("male" surname only) to the Weir DNA Project on in hopes to gather more info.

Have a great weekend. And thank you for all the Weir stories.
