George Shellem

I was not able to locate George Shellem's gravesite at Oakwood; however I did photograph and upload images for Charles Shellem. I am returning to Oakwood today and may look again for George and his family. Charles's plot (West Branch, Plot 15) only contained his grave and quite a bit of vacant space around it.

Researching my kin folk and found that there is a duplicate memorial of Soloman Klutts / Kluttz #112405391 in the Grace Lower Stone Cemetery Rockwell, Rowan County, North Carolina USA seems this memorial has all the links and info yes it is confusing to the spelling of our last name but never the less we are all still kin I'm trying to correct the extra memorials and info about my kin folk huge undertaking but just asking for you understanding on the memorial as to having two can be confusing to many.Combining both was nessary and having only one seems to be the correct way to have these thank you for your hard work in finding and recording my family.

RE: George Shellem
You are welcome. Perhaps they spelled his name differently? Could be a number of reasons. With it being a pretty large cemetery, going grave to grave would take quite a long time.

George Shellem
This Oakwood Cemetery has a search feature to locate loved ones..

There doesn't seem to be a George Shellem listed for this cemetery.

RE: Burnett & Adella Standley
I have looked through the burial map that I have for the Babyland section of the SR Odd Fellows Cemetery and did not find any Standley child listed. It does not appear that the missing child is buried here.

Mary, I have posted photos of the headstones for Ross and Clara Garrison to their Find A Grave memorials. Please see memorial nos. 56837508 and 154653190. Thanks.

RE: Burnett & Adella Standley
There is no child buried near the Standley couple. This cemetery does have a separate babyland area. With a death prior to 1900, a search would have to be made via the cemetery's old records and probably would not be recorded in their computer database. However, there are two Garrison burials next to Burnett, one of which is Ross Garrison, Adella's brother. The other one may be Ross' wife, if he was married. I would have to check the headstones to determine the other Garrison name.

RE: Unknown Soldiers marker
Thank you so much for those kind words, they mean a great deal to me, and the work you do on these memorials help get the word across of these unknown soldiers, people do get to see through your photo work that these poor soldiers are unknown, and have nothing but unknown markers. So your hard work is very important to my efforts. Ted

RE: Fred Shellem
You are very welcome. I'm honored to be able to contribute the photos to the memorials.
I'm originally from Salisbury. Most of my Dad's family is at Rowan Memorial Park and from time to time I will search the Find A Grave listings to see if I can add photo's.

Reno Even Griggs, 56847931
Hello. Regarding Reno Even Griggs and his first wife, Lillian Ann Standley, 56844454, I received this answer to my request for photos of their graves: "Greetings from Find A Grave,
We are writing to let you know that a Find A Grave volunteer has reported a problem with your photo request for Reno Griggs.
The general problem they reported is:
Cemetery office has no record of this person
They also reported, specifically:
Reno Evan Griggs and his wife Lillian Ann Standley Griggs are not buried in the Ukiah Cemetery." Lillian married her second husband, her cousin George Edward Stevenson, about 1925, and she may be buried in Oregon. George E Stevenson, 73078328, is buried in Willamette National Cemetery, Portland, Multnomah, OR. Regards, Diane

RE: James Feaginawas Grave photo
Very Sad indeed, thank you for taking the time to visit. One of these days when I visit back in NC, I live in LA I would like to visit. I did submit more photo requests but from what you have written it's unlikely they exist. Did you photo graph everything you did see on your recent visit? Have a great day, Jerry

Thanks so very much for locating and photographing grave for Find A Grave Memorial# 134437732, I have added an update to memorial giving you credit for this great job, as you see when I added this memorial I had only the data that I found in the cemetery index. They had stated no marker and yet you found it, Thanks again, Jerry
