Thank you
I got a tip from your blog, on how to add siblings to my F.A.G. memorials. I thank you! I'm so glad that I am able to add that to my memorials.

Happy Hunting!

No, more like a relative of a relative. My husband's maternal grandfather's sister's son was married to a Fenner.

Siblings HTML code
I wanted to thank you for your blog posting on how to add siblings to a memorial with sample HTML code.

I have used the HTML to add my gg grandfather's siblings to his memorial because I can't find his parent's graves and haven't been able to for the last six years.

I even have sent the HTML code already done as an edit suggestion to those who manage his siblings memorials asking them to do the same with a simple cut and paste.

One has already added and wrote back to say that the code would answer problems she is having with other memorials.

I wrote back and sent her the link to your blog page to give credit where it is due.

Great job!

RE: linking family
Thank you so much for responding. I'm new at this and don't know if I want to take on a lot of memorials right now. (asking to have them transfered) - I want to do them justice. I did get permission to have my fathers and brothers but before they gave them to me, the linked them. I wish it was easier, but I'm sure theres a super good reason for this. You can't just willie nillie start linking people together. THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!

linking family
Hello I saw you web page about adding children to the page. I'm trying to connect my dad to my brother's memorial. My mom is still alive. But even after reading you blog, (I'm not good at this) I can't find "edit bio" to follow your instructions. Can you help me how do I get to Edit Bio?

RE: New rules
Thanks for taking my message in the spirit it was intended. I got two scathing responses, one from someone who bragged about reporting me to admins. A lot of people don't follow the changes as they happen so I thought I would mention it to a few. Won't make that mistake again.

New rules
Hi. I see you are not a fan of allowing others to republish some of your photos. Just a heads up about Find A Grave’s new rules about that. "Our Terms of Service allow photos posted to Find A Grave to be shared amongst the Ancestry Community. As a result, you can post photos you found on Find A Grave to your Find A Grave memorials or on other Ancestry Community websites. We recommend that you provide attribution to the user who originally posted the photo before reposting it anywhere." You don't have a choice.

Thanks, Dianne.

I'm sure plenty of people will find your Aboyne records most helpful. I'll add some info on the rest of the family even though I haven't found graves for any of them so far.

Plenty more research to do!

Best wishes

As far as I know, the location of the infirmary cemetery is not known. But my information is several years old, so you could ask the county genealogical society. They're located in the public library in Zanesville. The entries I created are from the microfiche death register in the county probate office, also in Zaneville. I was only able to get about halfway through them (stopping in 1893) in the time I was there.

Hi Dianne

Many thanks for the message. Jane Christie, wife of John King is my 3rd cousin 3 times removed so not closely related.

I only started following that line very recently and your grave post was very helpful as it filled in details of one of the children too. I have lots of family from the Aboyne area but didn't find any others in the list of people in the graveyard on the site but maybe there are more to come as other people do similar research to you.

I do try to update find-a-grave with as much detail as I can when I find a family member. I particularly like to link children and parents so that other family members who find one link might be able to track extended families by clicking through. I think it's a great feature of the site.

I'd be happy to accept you transferring the Kings to me and I'll try to add details of the other children to the record despite not having found them in any cemetery so far. At least then others can hopefully track them down.

Best wishes

RE: Jacob and Susannah Beverage

Those photos of Jacob and Susannah's tombstones are old ones that I took over 25 years ago. Yes those are copies of the old photos. The last time I was there (2010), I took a couple photos but not of close ups of the stones. I have been in that cemetery twice. It is way back in off the road and the last time we were there, we were taken in on 4 wheelers.

Jacob and Susannah's daughter Mary Margaret Beverage was my gt gt grandmother. Her daughter Virginia E. Townsend married Uriah Beverage. Uriah was the son of Jacob's half brother William Beverage.

Levi Beverage was married three times. first to Clarrisa Waugh, they had two children: Lorenzo and Victoria, Levi then married Nancy Hudson and had the following: Daniel, Charles Wm. Adda, Indiana, Renick, Safrona, Paul Willie, Nelia, George, Lillie and Grace. Then Levi married Martha Gillespi and they had no children together.

There is a stone in the cemetery for Levi and Nancy. Also for Jacob and Susanna and for Earl and Ena Hill Beverage. Other than those three couples, there are many little markers with just initials on them and not all the graves are marked because my gt gt grandmother Mary Margaret Beverage Townsend is buried there with no marker.

send me your email address and I will send you a photo of the cemetery that shows Levi's grave. My email address is Becky

RE: Martz
Hi Diane, I have just recently got back into the swing of things in regards to genealogy. I would love to swap info with you. Off hand, my connection to the Martz family is through Lottie Dust, a great cousin of sorts I believe, she married Charles Augustus Martz. I've done some research on the Martz Bros Brewery and other businesses in Detroit. Feel free to contact me at Hope to hear from ya soon! -Jennifer

I see where you added his tombstone picture at Aid Cemetery, Are you related to him? Is it ok if I use the picture for my family history?

RE: Mary Bullen headstone
Dear Dianne,

You are ABSOLUTELY welcome to the use of any of my pictures!! I am honored!! People are always taking my personal pictures off of my tree on Ancestry, and I don't know if they give me any credit, but that's OK. I just want 'good quality' pictures available for the generations.
A quick calculation of your husband and my cousinship show we are 9th cousins, once removed.
I have a bunch of photos of Sam and Mary Bullen's headstones. I also have some nice photos of Samuel Morse' towering monument. Samuel Morse would be my 9th GG-Father, and your husband's 10th. If you would like any more photos, even if you just want to have them on file for use of any kind, just drop me an e-mail. My address is

RE: Photo permissions?
Sometimes I receive a message from an individual asking to use one of my photos for their personal genealogies -- I'm fine with that. I'd rather not have all my photos used by another website, though. (At least not without permission and proper credit.)

My computer kept freezing/not responding while I tried to post today... yes, he shares a stone with his wife and I will add photos for her as well and comment on both memorials for them a bit later today, after I meet some other deadlines.

You are welcome to use any of the photos that you desire. Life is too short to not share - right? :)
If you don't mind, credit is nice as others can know who else to contact if needed.
I see you are in So Cal. Where? I live north of Escondido.
