WOW I'm excited!!! I've been researching Ovid McWhorter for months, writing the history of Jefferson County Agricultural Extension, and he was our first agent. I have lots of info about Ovid's father, but nothing much on Ovid...just one blurry shot of him teaching a class in California. Do you think either you could send them to me, I can scan them and return them, or do you have them digitally?

I look forward to anything you could provide!

If you read the description of the Powell Cemetery, there are no headstones that I know of. However, I will stop at our local library to see if they were moved elsewhere.

I have added the information you sent and since they are part of your extended family, I just went ahead and transferred them to you.
You sent me the birth year of 1845 for the wife. The stone was engraved 1849 so I didn't change it, thought it might either be a typo or a discrepancy. Either way, you can resolve it now that it is in your management.
Best regards :)

Our records show name as listed wife of J.J.William died at age 24 years 10 mo 10 days.
please let us know.
Thanks R & S
Is there anyway to check to see if this name should be Sadie Williamson?
I am looking for Sadie Williamson and found a list on the Delaware County
Ohio Site that says she is buried here...so was wondering if it could be
her...The dates for this memorial match my family history dates.

Your very welcome! The Hillcrest Cemetery was originally called a Masonic Cemetery. The Salmons were masons. Thomas had the symbol of the masons over his name and Myrtle had the Eastern Star over her name. If you want a close of of these symbols, I have it.
