 | Thank you so, so much!!! Hi Diane & John,
What a wonderful and unexpected surprise to see my gggrandmother's gravesite image. My grandmother and mother took a trip in the 1930's to take a picture of her headstone. I have this photo and had tried to see if it was still standing. I had been told that a flash flood destroyed the cemetery in 2004 so I was resigned and happy to have the old photograph. My mother and I were shocked to see a new image of this headstone and to be able to read the text. The older photograph was impossible to read except for the name Garcia. We are thrilled to say the least.

 | RE: Re: Unknown #32844053 Thanks. I was just curious about this one. But I saw your picture of the cross of Alberto Dominguez, that the name looks rewritten. Was it faded or?? How did you know that name belonged on the cross? I wish there were dates, as this could be my gr-gr-grandfather. (My dad was born in Tombstone in 1905.) | Thank You for Photographing My Father's Grave Diane & John,
My mother and father divorced before I was a year old. The last time I saw him, I was two. For a variety of reasons, most of the photos of my father were destroyed. I managed to save one so I have an idea of what my father looked like around the time I was born. I never knew his birthday. I knew how he he died and that it happened when I was seven but never the exact date. His mystery has haunted me my entire life.
Thanks to you, I have a second photo. Thank to you, I know what Dad's birthday is. Thanks to you, I know the exact date he left this earth. You have given me a bit of peace with this photo and that connection to Dad is a priceless gift. Thank you for it.

Thanks.

 | RE: Re: Dorothy Stackhouse Scoggin I think your idea is a great one! Would you send the edit for the other Herschel Scoggin memorial? They forgot to put the E. on, they have a great photo also. There is no sense to delete any of them because somebody else taking a photo might just add them again. :) LuellaAdded by Luella Hinrichsen on May 05, 2013 9:09 PM | |

 | RE: Re: Donald Laverne Kraushaar It was an amazing find. I haven't ever found anything like this either. But, I love searching through the depths of flea markets. You just never know what might be found. I'm still going through the cards and envelopes. A lot of the obits are in sympathy cards.
I'm trying to figure out why all this box full of Illinois stuff is down here in Arkansas. I'm hoping to find a letter (there are many letters) that might give a clue.Added by Libby Talley on May 03, 2013 12:33 AM | |

 | Marsh memorial transfers Thank you for the transfer of memorials for the two Marsh daughters. I have linked one memorial to the memorials of the parents. The other is a long story and although she appears to be buried in IL she is actually buried in WA under another name. So I will add an explanation to the memorial that you transferred but will not link that memorial to her parents' memorials. As I said it is a long story. Thank you for the transfers!

 | RE: Re: Donald Laverne Kraushaar I'm sorry I do not know where the resource of his obit is from. I had bought a box full of cards at a flea market (I got excited because there were some that had my last name in them and thought they might have been kin.) (I cut up the cards and reuse them. My favorite thing is if there isn't any writing on the back of the front of the card, I cut it off and use it as a postcard.) and in that box is where I found obits that were cut out. Most of them did look like they were cut from newspapers. They seemed to be quite old, for the most part.Added by Libby Talley on May 01, 2013 10:18 PM | |
