Edward Schenck Fairmount Cemetery NJ #140787913
Edward was my great-great-grandfather on my grandfather's side. His daughter married my great-grandfather Gustave Lueddeke also buried in Fairmount. I was wondering how you knew the date of his death as it was not on the headstone? This information would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Mary Beth McNeil
Herman Hunkele and Wife, Annie
Hello,
I thank you for your Find A Grave Record # 29225576, and its accompanying pictures. This is an ancestor of mine. To the right of Herman's grave is the grave of his wife, Annie E Haller Hunkele. Can you please tell me the burial date on the gravestone? I have her birth date as Sep 30 1855, in Clinton NJ, born to Jacob Haller and mother, Johanna.

And, would you know if there are other family members buried in the same Hunkele plot?

Thank you for your assistance.
Mary Beth McNeil

RE: William W. Bonnell
OK. In reviewing my notes, the office staff member (Linda) said that William Bonnell is buried in the Eaglesfield/Wade Cemetery (Section14). There is a small illegible broken white marble stone there (seems to have been broken due to the growth of a tree trunk). So, I stand corrected. There is a marker.
Additional info supplied by office staff about the plot is that although the Wades are buried elsewhere in the cemetery and that they purchased the plot, no Wades are buried in it. Instead, only two Eaglefield and your William Bonnell are buried there. And since William's marker is set off behind the Eaglefield's and supplied by the government in 1889 it is unclear if William Bonnell really had any connection to the Wades or Eaglesfields at all.
So, I still plan to search for this stone once the weather improves here in NJ. No one will be at the cemetery to help me, but the church office staff gave me directions. So, wish me luck.
My apologies for for saying the spot was unmarked.
Sincerely, Jackie Allman (member #47804436)

G. A. Liest at Holy Sepulchre
This is a lucky find since there wasn't even a memorial for him. You might not even have known this one was here.

I wasn't certain of the plot, so I did not enter it. You can call the cemetery and get it, then send me an edit message and I'll add it.

You can also double check on whether it is G. A. Liest or C. A. Liest.

my honor.
I added one other tonight.
I will be back in the cemetery later this month and will try to get a shot that has better lighting. The sun was setting right behind it at the time

Take care

Gragor Ambrose at Holy Sep
Are you sure of this location? I found a plot clearly identified as Section I Lot 394, but it is for an Armbruster family. There are footstones but none for Gragor and none with that date of death. Could be he is there but changed his name.

Thomas Huntley at Holy Sep
By chance I came across a stone marker for Thomas "Huntley" (spelled with the e)in the same section as Thomas "Huntley" (spelled without the e). I had posted the photo of the Huntly stone on the Huntley memorial but now I replaced it with a photo of the Huntley stone.

Do you think they are one and the same with just a misspelling on the one?

Marilyn Cook
James W. Bird and wife
I went to Fairmount Cemetery at 620 Central Ave., Newark, NJ 07107 today. I searched for the gravestone in Section M, Lot 103 and found no such stone. I went back to the office for help. They looked up James W. and Rebecca M. Bird. There is no record of either of them being buried. They made a thorough search of their database, the interment cards and the registers. Is it possible you are wrong about what cemetery you were in?

Any help would be appreciated.

Marilyn Cook
Great, great granddaughter of James W. and Rebecca M. Bird.

Wm Fagan at Holy Sep
Check the photo on Wm Fagan's memorial. The stone refers to the 39th rather than the 26th, but you once mentioned that members of the 26th later re-enlisted in the 39th as well. Is this the right person?

RE: henry Speer
You are very welcome. His stone was hard to read and under a tree in this cemetery. The sun does not come to that side except in summer. I tried to lighten one of the photos for a better view.
