I am sorry to say my search was empty. I went to the funeral home which handled the funerals. I was shown two things 4 maps of grounds with last names on each plot. And a binder that a person had logged all graves with headstones. If there was no marker they were not in the book. There are over 4,000 graves. I tried to walk it but after 4 hours did not even see more than 200.

Gaskins Cemetery
Hi Anne, I finally learned to fix the photos so I worked on Gaskins today. Except for James S Taylor and Josephine Taylor all have Photos. But there is one unreadable stone that was obviously moved to lean on a tree and one burial location without a stone. I combined them into Unknown. You are welcome to the pics to see if you can see a name. I hope to be back out there in spring to see if I overlooked a plot.

Anne thank you so very much. I looked for the flag but did not see it. Sorry for my big mistake of inputting it twice. From my records and what was told through the years, George W. Farish was at the surrender at Appomattox.
I hope it does not mean that you can no longer put the Conferate Flag on the site. I understand but I feel it is wrong. It was part of our history and the South paid a huge price with many lives lost.

Thank you Anne. I appreciate you.

George W. Farish grave
Anne, I am so sorry but I have two lisings on Find a grave for my gr grandfather's. You have added the flag to one of the listings but I must remove one.
The one w/the least information is the one you have the flag on. I will be deleting one of the listings today. I would appreciate you adding the flag to the remaining listing.
I am so sorry for this error and inconvenience on my part.
Thanks. Marilyn Durham

RE: William S.
My gr grandfather Geo. W. Farish at Oakwood Cemetery served in the the war between the states and he was at Appomatox for the surrender.
I just learned there are two cites on Find a Grave but I do notknow how to merge them. I just recently installed the grave monument.

Advice
I would love to get some advice on this site. I learned about it through my employer as they use it to verify deaths in certain circumstances.

Ann,
I will be more than happy to try and locate your photo that you requested of Joshua Bissel D) 1863.
I hesitate to click "claim", if someone can get it before I can.
It is still very cool and wet where we are.
As soon as I can, maybe a week or two I would be very happy to go to Johnson's Island for you.
In 1990 they built a road to the island. We were one of the first to drive across it. It was just a one lane stone road then. The size stone you would have in a drive way.
No guard rails and the waves were splashing over the road.
The fear was worth the tears that I shed, standing on that ground.
I will contact you once I have found what you have requested.
Thank-you for asking.

RE: Phillip Woolsey Hudson
Will do Anne. The letter was re-printed in the then named Conecticut Courant newspaper in Hartford, which the Hudson family owned and published from around 1790 through around 1860 and I found it through a Google search. It's a letter to his father and is real interesting as he talks about the hardships and shortages in boot camp.
