You're more than welcome Karen. :-) Glad I could help.

Thanks very much, these are from "galvanized Yankees," my cousins who were confederates, got captured, went into IN and were "strongly encouraged" to join the Union army. They were Slatons down here, but like my family, adopted SLAYTON to avoid being called SLATTON (who also were mostly Union supporters). My own (confederate) ancestor had one bro CSA and three Union...Thanks again!

|Pam (Milliken) Redmond||RE: Funeral Records|
I checked for her funeral record but she falls into that time frame where the records are missing. 1916-1926 do to the fire at Rogers Funeral Home, they had to rebuild, she died in 1925. Sorry, If I run across an obit for them I will try to remember to send it to you.

Absolutely I will gladly scan the documents and e-mail them to you, do you need only Fred's or do you want Fred & Katie Sinda's?

|Pam (Milliken) Redmond||RE: Katie Sampson Hall|
Hi, Thanks for the reply about Sinda,Kate & Fred,greatly appreciated. I have both funeral records,Fred's Funeral Record is showing Sinda Hall paid for his funeral bill, that's what caught my eye and triggered the question. I will check the online record data base and see if they pop up, sometimes I have my head buried so far in funeral records, calling funeral homes, etc., it's faster just to ask someone related. I'm going thru old funeral records, microfilm also, looking for birth announcements, marriages and obits, in the hope of updating Hillside Cemetery records that were originally destroyed in a house fire, (so far I've found 140 names they didn't have listed on record)they got a list built back up from headstones but do to a fire and tornado touching down in the cemetery, some stones were destroyed so if they didn't have a headstone they didn't get documented, some info is gathered on Memorial Days when people come to decorate graves, they may get asked who's grave are they decorating, just so they can make sure they are added to the growing list...also the old Rogers Funeral home was destroyed by fire and they lost ten years of records 1916-1926 years are missing....particularly looking to document the people who were buried in Hillside but had no stones so we can get them recognized in the Cemetery Book, they try to update it every year for Memorial Day, we can't give them a grave location but we can acknowledge they were in fact buried there. So in the slow process of finding info, I'm trying to connect info with it's member in findagrave,send them obits as I find them, etc. I'm also making headstone's (free of charge, so they are documented)for the ones we can locate grave spaces on, that don't have headstone's. Sorry about the book, wanted to explain why I was questioning you.

|Alton & Loudonia||Delana Alsobrooks Stubbs|
You currently have a photo request at Glenwood Cemetery, Washington County, Florida. I looked on Ancestry.com and see that "Delana Alsobrooks Stubbs" is the wife of Gordon Andrew Stubbs. I just today added Delana and a headstone photo. I noticed a unmarked grave beside hers. I took a photo of it. Am not sure if this is Gordon or not? If you think it is I will add, but it has no Headstone, just a old Funeral home marker that is unreadable.
