RE: John Gray
Good lord! That request must have been a long time ago.
I will change the Gray in Portsmouth to Navy.

John Gray
Hi Steve,
You have me confused. Yes. John Gray in Portsmouth, NH died at the National Soldiers Home in Togus, Me; and buried in Portsmouth.

William Gray is the Veteran buried in West Lebanon, NH; scottish born. He was in the 16th NH.

RE: Elwyn Sawyer 162225933
Thank you for the Elwyn note.
I added the ME Veterans' Cem card to his memorial.
The card says ME 25th Co F.

ELWYN F was 29th Company, Unassigned infantry.

ELLERY F Sawyer was ME 25, Co F and is buried Harding Cem, Standish. Perhaps a mix-up.

RE: Charles P. Sanborn
Happy to help, Steve. I admire the work you are doing. There are many Civil War veterans buried in Edson Cemetery, my g. grandfather among them. And thanks for letting me know that Helen is buried in 4519 as well. There are also markers there for Willie Sanborn and wife Frances Sanborn. Marker states that Willie was a veteran of the Spanish American War. Would you like me to make memorials for them?

Helen A. (Dodge) Sanborn

I claimed the photo request for Helen Sanborn that was entered by Norman Dodge. Once I have information from the cemetery office that Helen is also buried in Lot 4519, I will be adding photos to her page as well.

Hi Steve,

I had to visit Edson Cemetery today and since you had the plot number listed for Charles, I took a photo of his monument. Note that the monument has him as a Corporal in Co. H rather than a Private in Co K.

Hi Steve. Thank you for all of your great contributions on Find A Grave. Are you far from Epping, NH? There are some graves that need to be photographed there, and I wonder if you would be willing to take them. Thanks so much! (If yes, please send me your email, and we can follow up.)
Best wishes,

Found it easily--the sun was out this time and I could read one side of the stone. I added pics and a memorial for his wife Nellie B. There is writing on the other (darker) side of the stone that is hard to read, but Susannah wife of ____ Smith is clear. Do you know if he married again after Nellie died?

Re;Wm. Swain
Thanks for taking the effort to clean it. I know just what you mean when you don't have your tools with you. Also when camera batteries are dead. GRRR! Luckily most times I'm just short distance from most of my work & can return to finish the job. I would like to get to that cemetery for other Swains, Wm Swain's granddaughter at 96 is still with us & i would really like to bend her ear.

Re;Wm. Swain

RE: Rev. Ebenezer N. Fernald, ME
I think I've got it...somehow, I misread it and put him in wrong cem. in wrong state!
It was easy to correct with your info, and I think it could be correct now. Nice that you input his parents and two small children. Bio said they had "five" but I only have names of the four we have on his/her bio. When I have time....maybe I will search???
Thanks, and sorry I got it wrong...I'm in a pre-Christmas'tizzy'.
